"Entire Senate to Go to White House for North Korea Briefing"

Via tweetTop Trump administration officials will hold a rare briefing Wednesday at the White House for the entire U.S. Senate on the situation in North Korea, senior Senate aides said Monday.

All 100 senators have been asked to the White House for the briefing by Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis, Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats and General Joseph Dunford, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the aides said.

While top administration officials routinely travel to Capitol Hill to address members of Congress on foreign policy and national security matters, it is unusual for the entire 100-member Senate to go to such an event at the White House, and for those four top officials to be involved.

U.S. officials have expressed mounting concern over North Korea's nuclear and missile tests, and its threats to attack the United States and its Asian allies.

Trump is trying to turn them into grown-ups.

It probably won't work on most, but I'll bet he appreciates the gravity of the situation more than they do.

At the very least, Trump will force a few SJW's to examine their arguments about Human Rights violations against actual evidence of it.

I misread that as "Entire Senate goes to North Korea" and thought - sounds about right.

I think this is a great idea. And a perfect way to get support for whatever he is going to do. What I fear is that he is drumming up support for military action against North Korea. Luckily he will be able to hear from patriots like Rand Paul who don't want another war. This time a land war in Asia.

How do those turn out for us?

If he just had the usual foriegn policy wonks and warmongers like McCain and Graham he would not hear from other voices. I hope the Senators are brave enough to speak out and tell us what was discussed. We have a right to know. The fact that the whole Senate will be there indicates that they want it to leak out.

Al Franken and Elizabeth Warren are not going to keep any secrets. They might as well live stream it on Youtube.

Truman mocked Eisenhower's secret plan for getting us out of Korea, but, nonetheless, an armistice was swiftly signed after Ike became president. What was Eisenhower's secret plan? He let it be known that he was transferring nuclear bombs to Okinawa, lots of them. The Russians knew that Eisenhower had been ruthless in his persecution of the war against the Germans. No threats were made, but I'm sure that these were significant factors when the Russians and Koreans discussed continuing the war.......If the war is again renewed, it will be bad for us, very bad for the South Koreans, and total catastrophe for the North Koreans........When a man is to hanged in the morning, it concentrate the mind wonderfully. This is true even of mad men.
