Man, I can't imagine the amount of flooding coming down the pipe for these people. I wish we had a national water pumping project to take all of that extra water in the flood plains and pump them over to the west coast. We could use it over here and you guys out in those flood prone areas would love to see it gotten rid of before it ever happens.

Meth - Wouldn't it be great if our nation had that kind of initiative?

Meth, it's Lake Superior. There won't be any flooding there. The picture shows that the ice was blown up against the shore from strong North/Northwest winds.

Sorry Meth, even if you were to grab the Great Lakes water, your government would hand it over to the Delta smelt anyway.

April, I've dreamed of doing something like this since I was a little kid. It makes perfect sense. See where all the flood prone areas are east of the rockies. Dig pipelines along those flood site and river beds with giant pumps and move that water to large reservoir areas for staging and then pump those reservoirs either through, over, or around the rockies to the west coast that needs it. Flooding problem is mostly solved, west coast gets the water it so desperately needs. Hell, fill the colorado with it for all I care.

Meth-

On Nova the other night, the show was about evidence the ancients moved water into Petra from less dry parts of the desert.
and they people didn't have Harvard Ivy league schools or computers. Just sticks and rocks.

I was also listening to discussions about how the US is losing our way in math and science education. Millennials are not prepared to compete in the world in math an science. US is churning out dip-shit takers.
Its us old folks who are doing the heavy lifting. the young folks want a free ride.
