But wait... there is more...

The Corner: It’s not just Lois Lerner’s e-mails. The Internal Revenue Service says it can’t produce e-mails from six more employees involved in the targeting of conservative groups, according to two Republicans investigating the scandal.

The IRS told Ways and Means chairman Dave Camp and subcommittee chairman Charles Boustany that computer crashes resulted in additional lost e-mails, including from Nikole Flax, the chief of staff to former IRS commissioner Steven Miller, who was fired in the wake of the targeting scandal.

Vote only for candidates who commit to ending the IRS.

Here's Camp's press release.

Not much detail.

A computer crash used to be when the read/write head of the disk drive came into physical contact with its platter, spinning at, like, a hundred gazillion RPMs.

Nowadays, the definition seems to be considerably broader.

Back in the days of batch processing, you'd crap out and get a diagnostic output cover page that was called a tombstone.

We used to have to spin the tape drives by hand, after the unions cracked down and we had to give the hamster a 20 minute break.

Punch cards made great bookmarks.

You only had to drop a deck of punchcards once not to ever again bypass the sequencing function.

Oh, yeah, they're bailing hard now.

I know this is an asinine statement, but this is truly unbelievable. Who the hell do they think they are that they can so blatantly lie. Don’t answer that. Bodies should be swinging from yardarms for such gross malfeasance of the public trust.

EFB you're reminding me of my ol' operator days on (what was it...) an RCA 301? Huge mainframe with a whopping 64K of core memory. As yes, I did experience the sinking feeling of dropping a box of punch cards.

Did anyone check Sandy Berger's pants?

Last time I emailed someone, the email went from my CPU 1) to the router 2) to Cox Cable servers to 3) some other Cisco server-that-manages-the-whole-internet-in-the-sky, with 3a) a little shunt to Utah where certain large NSA servers reside, to 4) the server managing the office where I wanted to talk to this guy, to 5) the hard disk on the desk of this guy I wanted to talk to.

There has to be at least 5 copies of every email everyone has ever sent. Not counting all the "CCs" and "BCCs", which would run it up to dozens or hundreds. Also not counting the anal-retentive office worker who prints a copy of everything sent to him/her.

So why doesn't the House committee ask Ed Snowden?

John .... you are correct. However, what this is really all about is they defy the law, lie to our faces, and just who is going to prosecute anyone for this travesty?

No one. That is who.

Any nation of laws is fragile and at risk when the head defenders of those laws has a vested interest in violating them themselves.

@aridog

Which will raise the question to every citizen:

Why should I follow the law?

There aren't enough policemen or regulators or IRS agents to stem widespread noncompliance.

Pogo ... precisely.

We are not that far away from anarchy. We just wish to think we are.

So is PMJ Jerry, then?

Here's your candidate, Meade.

She's amazing. Awesome. So much better than the rest.

Oh but that rube, Sarah. Hillary! and Kerry are so much more sophisticated with their rigorous blathering rhetoric.

Who ran the photo of Rose Mary Woods with the idea that some clever chap (or chapette) should Photoshop Lois Lerner's face onto the infamous stretch?

Good idea.

Please - someone do it.

(Or Hillary's face. Because, you know, it was the video.)
