O Canada. Ever been? I have been twice, just over the border at Niagara Falls. The second time, in my early forties, I was at the concession window at the camp I was at. Without thinking, I asked the lady could I use an American stamp to mail a postcard? She said no, and I replied, somewhat bemused, 'but we're so close to the border...' and immediately realized how stupid I sounded.

Been several times. Always enjoyed traveling in Canada. It's a beautiful country, with (mostly) very nice people.
I've toured the western half of Canada by motorcycle; touring the eastern half is a possibility this summer. If I could, I'd spend an entire summer in BC alone, just riding the mountain and valley roads.
I always wanted to go to BC but never did.
I took a family vacation in the 70's to Nova Scotia. That was fun.
I was in Trono one time and wanted to drive up to Hudson Bay. There was a line on the map - turns out that was the railroad that went to Moose Factory. I wanted to see where they bolted those suckers together.
Alas, back in those days one could not drive there.
I have been to Ottawa, Hull (site of the CNC), Montreal in the winter - brr - all over Ontario, even drove over to Wasaga Beach on Georgian Bay, which is on lake Huron.
Been to BC - mainly Victoria on Vancouver island.
I got no problems with America's Hat.
I've been fishing in Canada many times. Mostly around Ear Falls, Ontario.
I bicycled from Buffalo, through Love Canal, over to Niagara Falls, then over the Rainbow Bridge to St. Catharines, then along the gorge, then down into the gorge, then back up, then back over the Peace Bridge, then back to SUNYB.
That was a good ride.
If it wasn't for the fishing, there'd be no need to go up there. eh?
Traveled to BC quite a lot in the past. Montreal, Victoria, World's Fair in Vancouver. Almost bought a small resort up near Hundred Mile House. Once hitchhiked from Hamilton (SW from Ottawa) to Vancouver. Somewhere near Banff got a ride from the tour bus of Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airman. The band had flown to Vancouver for a show, so it was just the driver and me. He had some good weed on board so it was a very pleasant drive to Vancouver.
Anyway, always had great experiences in Canada, came close to moving there, to Nanaimo specifically. But at the time no jobs available in my field.

XRay get the cool story award :) I'd forgotten all about Commander Cody. They're one of those like Molly Hatchet or Little Feat, that an ancient boyfriend used to be into.
I forgot to ask yesterday. Someone said a bluegrass band did a Little Feat tune? Which band, which song, please?
I have no idea about that, but here is this.
In my previous comment I used the abbreviation CNC - I should have written CMC - the Canadian Museum of Civilization. That is a great museum full of Canuck stuff, including some great sculptures by Bill Reid, a sculptor whose work I have always liked.
When next in Hull, do stop by. And pay attention to the drum track in the First People's Hall.

I've been to Canada many times. The Canadians are fine people. However, we really were lucky to have lost the "War of 1812" - otherwise we'd have another 12 Bernie Sanders in the US Senate.
