Winter weather getting you down?

I know it is getting me down - only one thing to do - cue up the Gottschalk:

Ah, that's better.

More rain. One good thing with moving the clocks ahead tonight is that we get one less hour of rain. I had to mow Thursday, knowing that we had two more days of rain coming. I think that's the earliest I've had to mow ever. Love the Gottschalk. Peaceful. Relaxing. You can watch this video with the sound turned down while listening to Gottschalk, and really unwind.

I should mow, but I am hardcore. My neighbors have been mowing. They disappoint me. I will start charging the battery on my lawnmower - I will have to git 'er done eventually. I am just stalling.

Good video, windbag, and very much like what I have been doing today. The short version is that I turned a piece of yellow pine and discovered many beetle galleries in it, and my plan is to fill them with glow-in-the-dark resin. I generally don't like working with resin as it is toxic, but unlike dude's root ball, the piece I am working on will be mainly wood with only spots of resin.

But the end result of his work is pretty impressive. Swirly!

I've been watching some woodworking videos this weekend. Don't know why. Out of the Woods is a boring/fascinating channel.

We were expecting 5 to 8 inches of snow, but it looks like we got maybe 3. 40º temps starting on Tuesday with rain for about 3 days. YES! We are leaving winter behind. Quite sure that more snow will be on the way, but 20 or more below appears to be gone.

I am glad to hear that winter will soon leave your place, AllenS. I think the rain will stop here today, and maybe we will get some sunshine and warmth. That would be nice.

Windbag, if I have learned anything, and it's not clear that I have, I have found that it is easier to watch others do woodwork on YouTube than to actually do woodwork myself. I have been lucky this year - there have been enough days with tolerable weather so that I have been able keep making stuff without resorting to watching others do so. DiResta will have to soldier on without my views. Now you know DiResta the story.

Just went outside to feed the cats and take a walk down the driveway to the mailbox. Appears to be 5 to 6 inches of snow and it's still snowing.

I had quite the build up of snow/ice on my pole barn roof. With a new steel roof on it, which is very slippery, I didn't think the snow/ice would last long once we had a little bit warmer weather, and yesterday afternoon, it all slid off on the east side, with a giant large thud.

The sun is very strong today. Stirring hopeful feelings. The ice slid off our skylights with telling thumps last week. As T Waits says in my most favorite of his songs, "You can never hold back Spring!

You can never hold back spring
You can be sure that I will never
Stop believing
The blushing rose will climb
Spring ahead or fall behind
Winter dreams the same dream
Every time
You can never hold back spring
Even though you've lost your way
The world keeps dreaming of spring
So close your eyes
Open you heart
To one who's dreaming of you
You can never hold back spring
Baby
Remember everything that spring
Can bring
You can never hold back spring
