Maybe it's just that kind of day...

The music starts at 0:42 in. Vince Gill wrote this for his brother. I understand that.

I love this song and those three are crazy talented. Thanks for posting this. I've been watching Rhianna Giddens and the Carolina Chocolate Drops videos the past few days. This dovetails nicely into that vibe.

"You were no stranger to the rain"

This is the first time I've heard this. The melancholy evoked was short lived however, as Rolling in my Sweet Baby's Arms with my fave John Hartford leading the way rolled up right afterwards, perhaps because of the Alison Krauss link.

It's raining here, with yesterday's thunderstorm knocking the cloud of pink petals off the flowering crab. It was in full glory over the weekend, with the other four set to open for a grand finale showing just prior to our leaving. Moving day is the 29th.

Those 3 are hugely talented. I can't comprehend how that much talent can be contained within one person. Every single one of them is a great musician and singer, and together - hoowee - what a team.

John Hartford - yet another man for whom piloting on the Father of the Waters had an irresistible pull.

I must be onto something here - I keep getting popup ads for cruises from New Orleans to the Twin Cities. How did they know? Or are the ads making me consider such an irresponsible and illogical use of my time and resources? We may never know.

Side note. Vince Gill was invited to join The Dire Straits and turned them down because it looked like his career was taking off.

That would have been interesting what with Mark Knopfler being such an awesome picker himself. They probably would have clashed eventually, or was that another band? I'll ask CL - he knows these things.

Both Gill and Knopfler have done very well on their own, that's for sure.
