"Palestinian Woman Dies at 40 after Giving Birth to 69 Children"

Via Reddit: The Palestinian woman, who was known as one of the most fertile women in the world, had given birth to twins 16 times, triplets seven times and quadruplets four times.
This is not the first time a woman gives birth to so many children. According to a Guinness World Record, a Russian woman named Vassilyeva had also given birth to 69 children.
Meanwhile and elsewhere I read the pope seems to be having a change of heart about family size?
“Pope Francis has urged us to have fewer children to make the world more sustainable,” a panelist at a Vatican-run workshop on “how to save the natural world” claimed on Thursday.
John Lennon wrote the song (Good Night) as a lullaby for his five-year-old son Julian.

Ohio bus driver makes a stop that saved a suicidal woman's life

Surveillance footage shows him pulling his bus over to the side of the road before opening the door and urging the woman to step back from the ledge.

'Why don't we come back over on the side of the rail? ... Hey miss, why don't we come back on this side of the rail for me?' Damone said, before getting off his bus.

He then said: 'Ma'am, you look like you're having a bad day, you know. Can I give you a hug?'

Donald Trump claims Barack Obama wire tapped his Trump Tower

Via Drudge:  The US President unleashed a string of tweets slamming his predecessor

In an astonishing series of early morning tweets, the firebrand President claimed his predecessor had bugged his phones during the “very sacred election process”, slamming the allegations as a “Nixon/Watergate” scandal.

Trump, who started the Twitter rant at 5:30am US eastern time, branded the claims a “new low” before appearing to call Obama a “bad (or sick) guy”.

The property tycoon turned politician wrote: “How low has President Obama gone to tap my phones during the very sacred election process. This is Nixon/Watergate. Bad (or sick) guy!”

Watergate refers the early 1970s political scandal which forced the resignation of Republican President Richard Nixon when it emerged that the Democratic party’s headquarters had been broken into.

Modern Lovers "Roadrunner"

Wikipedia: Critic Greil Marcus described it as "the most obvious song in the world, and the strangest". Rolling Stone ranked it #274 on their list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

Origins of the song
As a teenager Richman saw the Velvet Underground perform many times, and the format of “Roadrunner” is derived directly from the Velvets’ song “Sister Ray”. “Roadrunner” mainly uses two chords (D and A, and only two brief uses of E) rather than “Sister Ray”’s three (which are G, F, and C), but they share the same persistent throbbing rhythm, and lyrics which in performance were largely improvised around a central theme.

However, in contrast to Lou Reed’s morally detached saga of debauchery and decay, Richman’s lyrics are passionate and candid, dealing with the freedom of driving alone and the beauty of the modern suburban environment, specifically the suburbs of Boston, Massachusetts. The introductory countoff, "one - two - three - four - five - six!", and lyrics about "going faster miles an hour" with the "radio on" have endeared the song to many critics and listeners since it was first released.

Richman wrote the song by 1970, when he began performing it in public, aged 19. Former bandmate John Felice recalled that as teenagers he and Richman "used to get in the car and just drive up and down Route 128 and the Turnpike. We'd come up over a hill and he’d see the radio towers, the beacons flashing, and he would get almost teary-eyed. He'd see all this beauty in things where other people just wouldn’t see it."

frozen duck

This is duck from Maple Leaf Farms mentioned earlier in the geese vs. pie post.  One was $16.00, the other was $18.00 and shipping was $17.00. So, shipping was 1/3 the cost. The prohibitive shipping cost was vitiated by the idea of using the dry ice to refill the Sodastream CO2 canisters but the dry ice was all melted except for a few tiny pieces and the lids on the canisters are too tight for my tools. The sub experiment was a blowout. Effectively the ducks cost 25.00 each.

Now I have two frozen ducks. What should I do with them?

Fake News All the Way Down!

So you remember the Anti-Semitic bomb threats and hate that CNN  blames on Donald Trump? Well it turns out it was committed by a fake journalist who was stalking his ex-girlfriend.

Juan Thompson, 31, of St. Louis, Mo was fired for making up a story about Dylann Roof that nut job who killed those churchgoers in South Carolina. He just made it up. You know. The way most of the news is made up by the New York Times and the Washington Post and CNN. He is the exception because he got fired. Maybe because he was blatant. Maybe because he was black. It seems the journalists who get fired for making shit up all seem to be black. Janet Cooke. Jayson Blair. These scumbags protect their own. They are at bottom racist and elitists. So when one of the lower caste fucks up they throw them to the wolves.

I hope Spicer and Bannon and Conway take this guy and beat CNN and the rest of media over the head. Hit that pious scumbag Jake Tapper with it the next time he tweets out some bullshit. Hammer them. Because this guy is a real journalist. He does what they do all the time. He just got caught.

Arnold quits ‘Celebrity Apprentice,’ blames ratings woes on Trump

New York Post Page Six  Bryan Hood and Yaron Steinbuch March 3, 2017

He won’t be back.
Arnold Schwarzenegger quit “The Celebrity Apprentice” on Friday — and took a shot at Donald Trump on the way out the door.
“I loved every second of working with NBC and [producer] Mark Burnett. Everyone — from the celebrities to the crew to the marketing department — was straight 10, and I would absolutely work with all of them again on a show that doesn’t have this baggage,” Schwarzenegger said in a statement.
The “Terminator” star, 69, issued the statement after an interview with Empire magazine, in which he said the show suffered because of its association with Trump.
“I learned a lot, I had a great time, it was a really great opportunity,” Schwarzenegger said. “But under the circumstances I don’t want to do it again.”
Schwarzenegger blamed the show’s ratings struggles on the fact that the president’s name was still attached as executive producer.
“When people found out that Trump was still involved as executive producer and was still receiving money from the show, then half the people [started] boycotting it,” he told the magazine.

"University bans phrases such as 'mankind' and 'gentleman's agreement' in favour of gender-neutral terms"

Via Reddit: Cardiff Metropolitan University’s revised code of practice states more appropriate terms should be used where possible, adding that students should not allow their “cultural background” to affect their choice of words on campus.
“Forefathers”, “mankind” and “sportsmanship” are also on the list of 34 words and phrases to be avoided as part of efforts to “embrace cultural diversity” by the university.
Students and staff could face disciplinary procedures if they fail to adhere to the language policy, but some have accused Cardiff Metropolitan of restricting their free speech, labelling the policy an “insulting” attempt to dictate their choice of words.
Dr Joanna Williams, an academic freedom advocate and University of Kent lecturer, told The Telegraph the ban was “unnecessary”.

“The idea that in a university people need to be dictated to in this way is really insulting to students and academics, we should be able to cope with words.
“These words have evolved over a long period of time and they don’t have sexist associations.”
While browsing recommended YouTube videos, I came across an interesting professor talk on the subject of gender neutrality, identity, respect etc.

Did the Obama Administration Try Stacking the Deck Against Trump at the Justice Department?

Via Instapundit:  Amid Thursday’s over-hyped brouhaha about Jeff Sessions meeting with the Russian ambassador, a curious detail emerged. In Sessions's recusal memo, it was explained who at the Justice Department would be handling any investigations into the Trump campaign's alleged ties to Russia. "Consistent with the succession order for the Department of Justice, Acting Deeputy Attorney General and U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia Dana Boente shall act as and perform the functions of the Attorney General with respect to any matters from which I have recused myself to the extent they exist," reads Sessions's official statement on the matter.

Except that if the Obama administration had its way, Dana Boente wasn't supposed be the U.S. attorney to handle these matters in the event that Sessions recused himself. On February 10, USA Today reported the following:
Seven days before he left office, President Obama changed the order of succession without explanation to remove Boente from the list. Obama's order had listed U.S. attorneys in the District of Columbia, the Northern District of Illinois and the Central District of California.
That seems like awfully suspicious behavior....

Porn stash believed to have crushed Japanese man to death

And even more tragically, the man's body was only discovered six months later when the landlord entered the flat to find out why the rent had not been paid.

The man's lowly death was revealed by a member of the cleaning team, who said his company had been hired to remove the magazines discreetly in a way that would not be noticed by neighbours and the man's family to save them from the shame.

It was unclear if he had suffered a heart attack and fallen into the stacks of magazines which had then fallen on top of him, or whether he had been crushed by the mass of paper.

But the cleaner said that if he was still conscious, the paper would probably have muffled his cries.

They say "huge," not large. The video is twenty-two minutes. I hesitated on this because I'm uncertain of interest here but then the comments on YouTube are all complimentary and awestruck. Commenters there are more impressed than I was.

My tank at home leaked. What a bummer! It's drained now and the substrate gravel is removed. I wanted to change all that stuff out anyway to rid it of snails and start over with all new elements. Snails come in with the plants so the new tank will be started with all plant clones. I've had this tank for twenty-five years and totally dug it the whole time. It's been a great object of interest. I've had a great time with this tank. But it's scratched all over inside and I should just get a new one. What the heck. They're rather cheap.

"Colin Kaepernick won't protest during national anthem during 2017 season"

Via Drudge:  Kaepernick, who is expected to opt out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers, either sat or kneeled while The Star-Spangled Banner was played before Niners games last season, a protest meant to draw attention to racial inequality and police brutality. He will discontinue his public protest in 2017, wherever he plays next season, a person with knowledge of Kaepernick's plans told USA TODAY Sports' Tom Pelissero.

The person requested anonymity because Kaepernick has not yet made his decision public.

Are the so called Trump Russian connections a reincarnation of birtherism?

Via NYT email — President Trump said on Thursday that he had “total” confidence in Attorney General Jeff Sessions despite the revelations that he had conversations with Russia’s ambassador during the presidential campaign.

Touring the Gerald R. Ford, the newest American aircraft carrier, Mr. Trump said that he “wasn’t aware” that Mr. Sessions had spoken to the ambassador, but that he believed the attorney general had testified truthfully to the Senate during his confirmation hearing.

“I think he probably did,” Mr. Trump told reporters.

Asked whether Mr. Sessions should recuse himself in the Russia investigations, the president said, “I don’t think so.”

Congressional Republicans began breaking ranks to join Democrats in demanding that Mr. Sessions recuse himself from overseeing an investigation into contacts between the Trump campaign and the Russian government. Those calls came after the disclosure that Mr. Sessions himself spoke with the Russian ambassador last year, in seeming contradiction to his testimony at his confirmation hearing.

The partisan furor that broke out with the Justice Department’s acknowledgment of the contacts late Wednesday began to take on a bipartisan sheen as the controversy spilled into Thursday morning.

Bear accidentally dropped from helicopter to its death

Via twitter:  Wildlife officers in Thailand have launched an investigation after an Asian black bear was accidentally dropped from a helicopter and killed.

The bear, which was supposed to be sedated reportedly woke up and panicked, before falling from its netting after the helicopter flew into a pocket of rough weather.

“We want the investigation to be conducted in a way to prevent such a thing happening again,” said wildlife chief Wirat Chatuphon.

The bear, which was fitted with a tracker for future research, was taken by helicopter rather than a car so it could be flown deep into jungle.

Mr Chatuphon said it was unhelpful for the public to point blame, telling the Bangkok Post: “If everyone keeps looking for people to find fault with, officials will be discouraged and eventually will dare not do any work.”

Thongchai Saengprathum, secretary of the Khao Yai Foundation, said the officials involved should face legal action for negligence and that the bear should have been driven by car.

Kellyanne Conway pose fuels Trump impeachment talk

At one point, with her heels digging into the delicate fabric of the couch, Conway is seen to be texting on her phone while President Trump met with his invited guests.

A sailor sits down at the bar and orders a drink.
He looks to his left and there's a pirate with a peg leg, hook hand, and eye patch.
The sailor asks how the leg was lost. "A gator ripped off me leg while burying gold in Florida." He asks next how he lost his hand. "A shark bit ma hand off while I was throwing the gator into the sea."
Amazed at the pirate's bravery, he asked how the man lost his eye. "A seagull shit in me eye." The sailor was shocked and asked, "a bird shit in your eye and you lost it??"
The pirate said, "it was my first day with the hook."

^(If this doesn't work on its own, there is an extension:)

An infinite number of mathematicians walk into a bar. Bartender asks, "what can I get you guys"? First mathematician says "I'd like a pint of beer please." The second one says "I just want a half pint." The third one says "a quarter pint". The bartender listens for a while and then stops them. He pours out two pints and says "you know, you guys really ought to know your limits."

It's just paper

But it's fantastic.

I mentioned earlier the box of paper given to me at age six and what a tremendous gift that trash paper was for me. Had I been offered a pirate's treasure, keys to a new car, a house, or that box of paper then I'd have no concept of value, none whatsoever, and I'd choose the paper and feel like a paper king.

So it wasn't that big of a gamble to buy some for a nephew that age going through coloring books at a fast pace, as projects. But I wasn't expecting him to be overjoyed. My brother reports he keeps freaking out repeatedly.
Hi Bo, if you were the one that sent some card sheets to Daniel you hit the ball out of the park, he was surprisingly overjoyed on several occasions. He's always coming into the office here at home and grabbing paper to staple together for a book creation or taping sheets together and making a long story paper. I very surprised how happy he was to get some stiff paper to draw and put onto the walls here at home.

That was the second email that day. In the first one he said he felt bad for not mentioning earlier how the boy fixated on the animals coloring book, obsessed, until the book was done then went straight to the book about birds.

A ream of card paper and suddenly whole worlds of creative expression open up.

That made me happy. My brother is going to have card paper all over his house, put up on all the walls. His whole house will be wallpapered with children's drawings.

Thinking about this presented an idea for another book-card apropos of nothing in particular, one depicting the early development of paper. People by the river among papyrus rushes, people stripping plants, cutting stems, smashing the stems with rocks. People arranging smashed stems in rows and laminating criss-crossing in layers and smashing together damaged stems, drying, bleaching, grading, bundling.  A page devoted to early writing. And the point of the whole project, a deflection, a page of boys flying papyrus kites, that for some reason, isn't a reality. (Probably a devotion to national projects at the expense of idle experimentation and general goofing around.)
