You run across the funniest things sometimes...

Just tryin' to spruce up the place a bit, not pining for the fjords, not here to needle anyone, not that I wood, anyway.

I wonder if you started with apple wood whether or not the drink would taste like apple pie. We'll have to as Mags

And why not some more Dave Brubeck to go with it, even though this should be posted on September 8th.

That song continues to blow my mind. Brubeck was an exceptional human being.

He was. And Paul Desmond was impressive as all get out.

I just looked up who did the cover art for Brubeck's Time Out album - how about that, it was done by Sadamitsu "S. Neil" Fujita, who, after being rounded up by FDR served in the Fighting 442. The things one learns along the way.

Whether or not the drink would taste like apple depends of the skill of the distiller. Yo7 have understand that a raw mash has a gemisch of fragrant entities, only some of which can be separated by distillation. Some things don’t survive the distillation which typicall6 involves heating. Other components (typically esters) will distill before or after the alcohol. So the distiller must decide where to “cut” the fraction. When making vodka, the goal to eliminate everything but the ethanol.
