8 practical reasons why you should include a cotton pillowcase in your bug-out bag

My bug-out bag?

Suddenly I feel so unprepared.

I found an old go skiing on a moment's notice bag. No bugs. It made me sad. Because I cannot do that anymore. I unzipped it to see what's in there and revisit the remnants of my past self. Yellow goggles. Thick wool socks and thin nylon socks. Long underwear like cowboys wore. Regular underwear that norma people wear. A wool hat. Thick mittens, thick gloves, chapstick. Sunburn lotion. Towel. T-shirt and regular shirt. Sweater. Toothpaste, and toothbrush. Sunglasses. Scarf. Jockstrap WTF?

But no cotton pillowcase.

Here are News Target's reasons why you must have a cotton pillowcase in your bug-out bag.

First, try to guess what they are.

These dudes are preppers.

They're trying to help us be prepared.

* bandages or a sling
* clothing repair
* dust/smoke mask
* fire starter
* makeshift bag
* water pre-filter
* reusable diaper
* reusable toilet paper

Man, did I ever fail that pop quiz.

My guesses were

* make a kite
* make a sail
* ghost costume
* airplane windsock
* canvas for oil paintings
* separate clean clothes from dirty clothes
* make curtains
* dust ceiling fan blade
* put on the end of a broom to knock out spider webs
* store tubes of wrapping paper
* store LEGOS
* put rocks in to make a weapon
* catch snakes
* dust covers for folding chairs
* protect camera equipment
* store caladium bulbs
* make a shirt for your dog

A bug-out bag or BOB is a portable kit that normally contains the items one would require to survive for 72 hours when evacuating from a disaster

OK. That's one clue or qualifier; and the other involves "practical reasons".

Other than make a sail or use as a tote, the rest of the guesses listed went so far afield as to be non-nonsensical under the terms provided. However they do fit well under "Other creative uses for a pillowcase".

Since the whole thing serves as a madejalooknthink, there are bonus points for the ability to use a pillowcase to capture attention, and solicit a response.

When we were in Florida our daughter told me to make a "go-bag" in case we had to flee because of the upcoming hurricane.

The wife kept calling it the "Grab bag." I told that was for your Christmas presents but she didn't get it.
