#Her2020

Meet Juli Briskman, freshly unemployed. The sentiment she expressed as President Trump's motorcade passed her was cheered on Twitter and throughout social media. Comedians made jokes. She has her support. But not from her employer, Akima LLC, a government contractor. She was escorted from the company with a box of her things.

Things like fuzzy pens, otter tape dispenser, Doctor Who adipose stress reducer, Urban Outfitters catalog, Word a Day calendar, SpongeBob SquarePants beta bowl, Little Miss Sunshine nameplate, bright purple nail polish, Newton's cradle, WTF nifty notes, pink portable fan, Miss Kitty coffee mug, sausage dog bookends, rubber star wand erasers, scented glitter pens. For other than politics, and other than being a tiny bit sweary in pubic and freshly unemployed, Juli Briskman is a delightful and fun loving and health-concious young woman.

Details at Gateway.

a non-event, otherwise. Flipping the bird happens millions of times a day.

Who got her fired? The hack press who highlighted and delighted in her hatred.

It would be super creepy if the employer fired her for an opinion expressed on her personal time but she probably promoted this activity all over social media (I know I saw it out and about) and proudly let the world know who she was. It's still super creepy but drowned out by the smug sanc stank.

I get a sense of privilege from her, so glad she got a comeuppance. Congratulations on your 15 minutes of fame!

She's a 50 year old woman--and a marketing and communications specialist to boot, all of which could have led to a modicum of awareness in regard to gut reactions and the wisdom of flipping someone off in public A NUMBER OF TIMES!

Juli Briskman was cycling in Virginia last month when she offered the gesture in a gut reaction to Trump’s policies, she said.

“He was passing by and my blood just started to boil,” she told the Huffington Post. “I’m thinking, Daca recipients are getting kicked out. He pulled ads for open enrollment in Obamacare. Only one third of Puerto Rico has power. I’m thinking, he’s at the damn golf course again.

“I flipped off the motorcade a number of times.”

Ah, sorry Mz Briskwoman, if he's in the motorcade, then, he's not at the golf course.

Technically, she has the right - free speech, what have you, but the company gets it.

You don't tick off the boss. You also don't tick off all those people who like the guy because they might go to somebody else who provides the same services.

Money has no politics.

The irony is she was ticked because he was going to a golf course? Where the Hell was she the last 8 years?

Heavens, that's a lot of emptiness and stupid. I'll summarize: (1) no they're not and if they are it's not Trump's doing; (2) so what why advertise abject failure; (3) Trump is not at fault for hurricanes and decades of government corruption and mismanagement.

These parrot puppets just repeat what they see on CNN/MSNBC etc. They're given their outrage script and then they act it out. So obedient, so blinkered. The left hasn't questioned authority in, like, ever. They all lined up and voted for Hillary the obvious greedy pig at the government trough, and her husband the greedy sexist pig before her. They could not WAIT to vote for Obama the gladhanding grifter with the gummy grin who was the show pony for the global elite. They do what they're told. They retweet, like good little parrots. Or myna birds. I had a friend growing up whose grandma had a myna bird that said "fuck you." That's the left.

Even when they "questioned Authority", it was only because they didn't want to have to do something. They didn't want to have to grow up.

So she was canned for showing disrespect? Scary.

Yeah, I'm not entirely comfortable with that either given all the viewpoint discrimination that goes on with regard to conservatives. You can't have an opinion while you're riding your bike around on your own time? But then she had to go shoot her big dumb mouth off and bask in the attention and glory of ... flipping the prezzie the bird. Asshat. The employer is a government contractor. My bet would be that she's a crap employee in a fungible position and this was a good opportunity to get rid of her. It's probably at-will employment.

As usual there is more to the story than meets the eye.

She's not thinking, contrary to her use of the word to describe the litany of wrongdoing looping around in her brain. While this particular screed was focused on Trump and triggered by the sight of his passing car, chances are good there was another authority figure earlier in her life who royally ticked her off through misuse or disregard. The clue, in addition to her repeated use of an obscene hand gesture of anger, outrage and resentment, is the mention of boiling blood, a fairly good indicator an internal issue has been triggered.

There are two distinct stages in childhood development where learning how to handle the "yes"and "no" needed to establish identity are practiced: the ages 2-4 doodyhead and You can't make me years, and again at the onset of adolescence where sarcasm, snark and slightly more advanced forms of contempt beyond doodyhead show up to accompany the You can't make me claim.

What do I see and hear when I look at the picture and read the words of a 50 year old woman who reacted with outrage toward an authority figure she didn't like and disagrees with? A 14 year old girl who didn't complete the work of maturing to grow into an adult who knows how integrate feelings and thoughts. However, a myna bird that says "fuck you" also comes close.

There are a lot of people out there with this stunted maturity. I blame crappy boomer parenting but the attitude on the left was born in the boomer generation. Little old ladies who say "fuck you" a lot? We have them in droves out here in the San Fran Freakshow Bay Area. Tubby old beardoes of grim facade and barely suppressed rage? Can't get away from them. Always judging, taking your measure, trying to figure out how cooperative to their point of view you are, where you would fit in the collective. They want their utopia and the rest of us just keep taking it, preventing it, blocking their view of it. They glimpsed a vision of what it might be like during the Barry O years. THEY would be in charge, and THEY would deal out the justice, and THEY would decide the winners and the losers. Now cold water has been poured all over that. By horrible gun-toting bible reading TrumpkinsNaziRacists. (They're guesstimating; they don't really know us all that well.) So now it's FUCK YOU! And you. And you and you and you. [music] So long, farewell, auf weiderheisen, good bye. F O A D slowly in a fire!

P.S. I spelled it wrong, it's "mynah" bird.

I used to ride a lot - for a couple of years in Silicon valley I rode with a guy from Chicago. He introduced me to the concept of "board whompin'". I don't advocate it, I do, however understand it.

I'll admit being blissfully ignorant of the annoyance of a routine President motorcade, which I suspect folks in Virginia are used to and tired of. I know I've been annoyed that a Presidential visit to Houston would mean shutting down freeways even prior to Air Force One landing. I would also understand being annoyed at fast moving cars passing me from behind and close abroad while riding a bike.

Caveat given... the normal behavior I've seen from people when a police lead motorcade goes by is to pull over. The photo crops out the police and makes it look like he is just driving by. I have concerns about it. Libertarian ideals aside, I'd have more respect for her if she was on the side of the road making way for the motorcade.

I am ok with this but if a conservative got fired for flipping off Obama I would be furious.

Exactly Amartel - her flipping the prez motorcade the bird is "whatever'.
It was her bragging about it, looking for attention and getting it, hack-dem press who are looking for a daily doss of Trump hate happy to promote) ...while working as a gov. contractor.

Stupid girl.

Amartel said...

Dems fly into SFO constantly. Well, they used to. Heh heh.
Pause for bliss.
Anyway, they never shut down the freeway. That would not end well at all. The one irritating thing was that they would bypass the freeway altogether and hop in the helos to go visit the Silicon Valley bigs they were visiting. The bigs have their own helo landing pads, I guess. Big noisy helos. Whapwhapwhapwhap overhead going out then coming back late at night. Goddam it, Barry, you big silly whoooah. Was it good for you, too? I was mildly inconvenienced once because I like to bike around Hillsborough and they were up in there partying one night and the cops blocked off my return route. Fine. Whatever. Keeping the king safe from thru traffic. Important.
