WKRLEM: God Bless Ameica

Every Independence Day I watch this video. I look at all the stars who were in it who are dead.

Hope. Crosby. Dean Martin. Lorne Greene. Hossaroni. Michael Landon. Lucy. Jack Benny. Phyllis Diller. Just about the only one still around is Glen Campbell and he has Alzheimer.

Do you think they could get a bunch of big stars to do a video like this today? Who would do it? Clooney. Pitt. Damon. Meryl Streep. DeNiro. Kathy Griffin. Beyonce. Kayne. Not a chance.

Look at how far we have fallen. The people who are stars and big time Hollywood powers hate America and hate us.

The deplorables have to take their country back.

"Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are inevitably ruined." -Patrick Henry

God bless all of Lem's Lemmings and their familes. God Bless America.

Read a pretty good book a few years ago, When Hollywood was Right. Gives the history of it's swing from right to left.

I just was struck by the idea of who would do such a video.

You can be liberal. You can be a rabid Hillary lover. But you still should love your country.

It is amazing how far we have fallen.

I don't know who Lorne Greene, Hossaroni. Michael Landon. are but I met Mrs. Ball one time. Right before she died, actually.

Oh wait. Lorne Greene is the is the dad on Bonanza, right? And maybe Michael Landon was one the sons, right?

I love that show on reruns on OTA before Netflix kicks in. I love where the dad goes, "Hoss, get over here to Sound Stage #6. I meant to say over here by these fake trees, I mean real trees. " And Hoss is all, "I'm busy over here in Studio 8. I meant to say down here by the painted river, no wait, the real river."

It's like Lost in Space except Texas.

Plus, the Stars aren't really stars anymore. Contrary to Norma Desmond, the pictures are still big, but the stars are much smaller.

And there were plenty of commie stars back in the old days. John Garfield, Jane Fonda, Gene Kelly, Melyvn Douglas, to name some of the bigger stars. Most of them would rather have sung the Internationale then God Bless America. But they kept a low profile or pretended to be patriotic especially when we were fighting fascism in WW 2.

Hossaroni is Hoss Cartwright from Bonanza. Dan Blocker.

Trust Troop to bring the patriotism. Which is the right thing to bring today.

Dare I say it? I always got a bad vibe from Lorne Green. Who knows why? But I did.

And Michael Landon was too impossibly good looking. But my Dad cried watching an episode of Little House On The Prairie. So there's that.

Let's not be all gloom and doom, because I read recently that Generation Z, I think that's like today's teenagers, has its collective head screwed on straight, or straighter than the Millennials or Generation X, whoever they are. I read that in the NY Post so it MUST be true!

I'm watching the shadows crawl across the farm field across the road. Always a sweet melancholic mood watching the day die.

Wayne called in a lot of IOUs to make that. He even got people like Tommy Smothers.

Times, bad as they were, were a lot different.

Never forget, the Commies were our allies and the war was The War To Save Communism for them. A big reason why the Left was so quick to stigmatize Hiroshima and a bit less about Dresden.

The Nips were scared of the Russkies. The Krauts came a lot closer to overrunning them than some people realize.

With the possible exception of Mike Landon, all the Cartwheels were hard Lefties. Dan Blocker moved to Switzerland because he was dissatisfied with all the people who made him rich and famous.

Landon, however, never forgot who put him on top.

A hard lefty in 1965 is to the right of John McCain and Lady Graham these days.

Lorne was a canuck. That is all one needs to know about him.
