Communications Director vs Chief of Staff

Frankly, I'm starting to see Trump's inner circle as being nothing more than Star-Fuckers who think they can be the king behind the throne.

One down, many to go.

I see this as the beginning of the ascendancy of Dems like Kamala Harris.

Neither faction of the Republican party was ever interested in compromise. I see it here.

Eventually, there will only be one person left to serve Trump. Me. Then, if you visit the White House, you'll need hearing protection because of all the gun shots.

Mickey Kaus has it right...

Reincemortem: Trump threw in his lot with Ryanists/RNC and it failed spectacularly for him (eg Ocare non-repeal, ever-receding tax plan).

Amartel said...

I'm shocked, SHOCKED, to find starfucking going on in politics.
Not really.
I'm fine with the competition and I'm fine with the willingness to get rid of dead weight. It can be spun as chaotic, and it probably is chaotic from the point of view of the dead weight. But it's a good message to send to the bureaucrats - get results or be gone and it's transparent chaos which contrasts nicely with the boring old DC status quo back stabbing and wheeling and dealing behind closed doors then pasting on a big phony smile for the cameras.

Amartel said...

Lem - Yes, exactly - Reince was supposed to deliver the RINOs on healthcare and did not. That may not be his fault but it was his purpose and his reason for being closely adjacent to power is ended now.

chickelit said...

The divorce between Trump and the GOPe is final now. There really is no one on the GOPe side to tell their side of the story. I expect the GOPe to double down on Trump destruction now, perhaps openly colluding with Dems and DNC press. If the Dems and the GOPe could have just compromised one iota.

@Trooper -- if you are reading -- have you noticed how much Deidre Ball looks like SJP? (h/t Ritmo).

Are we to deduce from Scaramucci's attack that Reince leaked?

We can wait and see, can't we? If the leaks stop, I mean. The degree of howling by leak receptacles will be a tell as well.

XRay said...

If 'they' haven't figured out who the leakers are by now then they are all incompetent. So I figure Reince isn't, as I don't think Scaramucci knows much of anything.

rcommal said...

Neither faction

Oh, I think that there are more than two, by far, and I'd be surprised if you think that I haven't thought for so many years, even decades, now.

rcommal said...

I, personally, would not make assumptions with regard to deduction OR induction in terms of Scaramucci's pontifications. This is a guy who can't tell the difference between leak (in the legal sense) and gossip (not illegal). Hell, this is a guy who--wha???--goes out there and *says* he's contacted the FBI or/and whatever because a form he had to fill out--precisely for transparency reasons for. the. benefit. of. the. general. public--was readily accessible, as was the design of the point of disclosure forms: in other words, a public document for the purpose of being public.

Dang. Helluva thang, dontcha think?

chickelit said...

I meant the Trump wing and the anti-Trump wing of the GOP.

As for The Mooch's OTHER recent thing (The New Yorker bit of theater, which The Mooch instigated): We all laughed, because indeed it was hilarious, from each and all of our points of view. We all laughed: I did, my husband did, and also did our son (soon enough to be 18). Yeah. Right. THERE'S and THAT'S the way to be credible while launching one's way into the Communications Director role of any place, above all including and specifically in terms of the White House.

Oh, Lord. W.T.H.

There you go again, member of the Media (social sort, but still: You ARE part of The Media, and a part that's been mainstream--and not just that, but the *ascendant* mainstream media--for an exponential period of time). Don't you get it?

LOL.

rcommal said...

Work harder.

The talking and the talking back media might be a better way to frame what you're trying say. I''l give you that.

I mean, just today I was struck by Chuck Todd's visage. That's a mug on TV. My mug is not televised.

chickelit said...

Media-wise, isn't it a hoot that most telegenic leader is cobbled together with the least telegenic supporters? It sort of leaves the middle ground for the MSM. Of course, MSM reporters are yoked with the richest men in Norte America: Jeff Bezos and Carlos Slim.

Weird, innit?

I like the looks of the oval office.

Dad Bones said...

Maybe they still aren't being outrageous enough. It didn't hurt Rahm Emmanuel's career to start a fight with Eric Massa in the shower, while both of them naked. Obama or his speech writer came up with a good line to shrug it off. "Welcome to my world." A response like that wouldn't work for Trump. It's a gesture of bemused helplessness, of one who can't control his wacky chief of staff. Trump is anything but helpless and I often wonder how involved he is in creating the public perception of the spats that occur in his staff.

That is some awesome architecture in that room - the shell carvings over the windows, the pediment over the door - the classic order architecture with the round architrave and dentil molding - is it too much to want those sorts of details in my own house?

I get the idea of the striped wallpaper, I get it but I still don't like it.

Chip Ahoy said...

The Oval Office ceiling is gorgeous too. Guess what shape it is. Come on, guess.

The walls have a camphor leaf and dentine cornice with concealed lights all around that wash the plaster ceiling with light, no chandelier, rather, a medallion in the center in the shape of the presidential seal. Painted the same color so you got that whole design by shadow thing going on. Except the light comes from all directions sort of erasing the shadows of each other except for the internal gouges. Except sometimes portions of the design are painted gold. Here, check it out, Checkitouters.

The Mooch was just talking like a New York knock around guy. You know the ones that President Trump has worked with in construction since he was a kid. I am sorry that it terrifies the pussies in the media and the GOPe.

They need to be purged. They are being purged. President Trump tried it their way. He relied on Ryan and McConnnel. They failed. Now he can get involved. He can broker a deal that brings some Democrats on board. He would be better off dealing with sworn enemies like Sanders and Schumer than filthy traitors like McCain and Collins. They will betray you every time. So make a deal with the enemy. Not the quislings.

rcocean said...

Now, Trump should move Sessions to DHS - appoint a Trump supporter as AG - and fire Muller, the No. 2 FBI guy and Rothenstein.

rcocean said...

Mccain is amazing. He actually made a 2105 campaign commercial stating he's "leading the fight to repeal Obamacare".

But of course, he's never had any respect for the Republican "Boobs" who vote him into office. In "Losers" by Michael Lewis, the author recounts how McCain would regale the NYT/Wapo with stories about all the dumbshit Republicans who voted for him.

He must be laughing his ass off right now.

rcocean said...

"losers" is about the 1996 campaign.

I am really enjoying Bull Durham - all the local sights, locals sitting in the stands, a coworker's ex-husband playing three different batters, the way the town used to look as compared to how it looks now, but more importantly, it is a study in psychology dressed up as a baseball story. Ron Shelton has an in depth understanding of human nature and he was able to express that in his writing.

I have no idea how to relate the baseball parables to our current political situation, but were I smart enough to do that I would not be sitting around watching nearly 30 year old movies and enjoying the rock and roll sound track, remembering what it is like to ride in a 1965 Volvo PV544, wondering if Galapagos lava lizards really breathe out of their eyelids, and knowing with a great certainty that we are dealing with a lot more shit than the guys meeting on the mound had to face.

GET TWO! And no lollygagging. And don't use a certain word that will get you run.

No regrets.

ndspinelli said...

Sixty, Bull Durham is a movie I'll always watch if it's on. Most Coen Brother flicks fit that bill as well. It's about writing, not the fucking special effects that now dominate.

The Dude said...

I agree, Nick. It had been years since I watched BD in its entirety and I enjoyed the heck out of it, especially now that I know more about how and where it was made. I miss the old Single A Bulls, but that movie made them famous, they went Hollywood, built a new baseball cathedral and are now Triple A.

The new park is a good one, built by the same crew that built the new Orioles park, but the ambiance is gone. No history, no legacy and those things cannot be replaced.

That was fun, chickelit.

That said, both you and I know that we have chosen separate ways (including what you and your wife have chosen).

For that reason there will be no fun anymore.

rcommal said...

You have precisely ZERO reason or justification to look down at me, my husband, or my son.

Hell, you have precisely ZERO reason to look down at the fact that my dad, it is true, was a university professor, and not just that but also a professional musician AND a music professor (at a time when it was entirely different than it has been for the last 30-20 years, since when he gave up on the bullshit that universities had already become already).

Also, my dad has been a lifetime NRA member for decades. Seriously: For decades.

rcommal said...

Come this November, my dad will turn 80. And I will still be able remember him in his 20s, as he remembers me as a toddler.

@chickelit: Choose or don't. Up to you.

Likewise, it will be up to me to choose or not to respect the facts having to do with your "moving" to Irvine and wht,

rcommal said...

wht

That should have been "whatnot".

rcommal said...

I am curious. How many of you pay as much we do each and every month for insurances of every sorts. How many have of you have been doing so for as long as we have?

Yeah. I get it. All of you are just going to shit all over me and mine. You're going to share with all of social media friends how crappy I am, how awful my family is and has been. No way will you ever acknowledge a goddamned thing.

The Dude said...

Go fuck yourself you fucking crazed fucking victim. What I pay is none of your goddamned business, and your insanity is your fucking problem. Well, your family's too, assuming that anything you have ever written has even a kernel of truth to it.

Now get back on your meds, since we are paying for them I hate to see them go unused.

rcommal said...

Dear Sixty:

I am on precisely ZERO meds. For that reason, what you just said is complete bullshit.

rcommal said...

assuming that anything you have ever written has even a kernel of truth

According to you, there has never been even a kernel of truth in anything that I have written.

So be it. So it goes.

rcommal said...

Dear Sixty:

You are paying for exactly ZERO in terms of subsidizing me.

The Dude said...

Yet another lie from the delusional bullshitter. Go fuck yourself you miserable victim.

rcommal said...

Dear Sixty:

Although--wait for it, just for a sec--perhaps you WOULD prefer that I have been prescribed meds, because, in your mind, it would justify the silly things that you say about me. And, also, there's no doubt that you WOULD prefer the notion that you're subsidizing me, for obvious desires.

Alas, all of that is a non-starter. So sorry [not sorry] if that hurts your thinking and minding.

Nope, I'm not on meds. Nope, you're not paying for anything in terms me (and nor is any "we" paying them: LOL, quite the opposite, if anything).

The Dude said...

Your delusions of persecution should be addressed. See a physician if your symptoms last for more than 4 decades.

rcommal said...

LMAO.

rcommal said...

I don't feel persecuted in the way in which you like to put it. Nor am I deluded.

I do know that you are full of shit, Sixty Grit, and that the likes of you are to be pushed back at. Cruddy, you are, and most likely of the actual subsidized who just can't accept that notion.

The Dude said...

Insane, you are, and better looking Yoda was, too.

I honestly don't know what you're talking about and your subsequent comments did not enlighten me.

@Sixty Grit

I am both insane and less attractive than Yoda.

@chickelit

Fair enough.

The Dude said...

You have never worked a day in your life, have you, r,l?

@rcommal: The only explanation I can see for your outbursts is that you comment at times under a different handle (elsewhere) and that I'm supposed to "get" that.

I would like to add that you are paranoid in addition to having delusions of persecution.

By all means, if you say so, it must be true.

rcommal said...

Not posting here any part of my resume, Sixy Grit, as I would not expect you so to do and as I would expect that you would not so do, nor even really expect that I would do so.

The Dude said...

Just as I suspected - you continue to lie, evade and dissemble while attacking others. It's okay to write "Loony bin" for where you spent the better part of your adult life.

So until you are willing to admit the truth of your life, you need to fuck off, you liar.
