"CNN is under fire for threatening to identify the creator of the Trump wrestling video"

Via Drudge:  CNN has struck back in the war over the wrestling GIF.

On Sunday, President Trump posted a GIF from a video taken during his appearance during WrestleMania 23 in which he beats down a wrestler. However, this particular GIF was a little different, in that the CNN logo is superimposed over the wrestler's face, making it appear as though Trump was assaulting the news organization itself.

However, CNN made a move of their own during the Fourth of July, revealing that they had discovered the identity of the Reddit user responsible for the GIF's creation. The user, who goes by the handle of HanAssholeSolo, originally posted the GIF to a part of Redit called r/The_Donald. Some of the user's other posts were controversial, depicting things like a Jewish cabal in control of the White House.

The user posted an apology to the network, saying that he mainly posted controversial images to get a rise out of other users. In a report on the user, CNN said that it had decided against publishing the user's identity, but should any more hateful content come from the account, that they reserved the right to do so in the future.

It's that last part that many online have an issue with. Twitter and Reddit users have criticized the company, saying that it is targeting a private citizen, leading #CNNBlackmail to trend on Twitter.

Once again, I must give President Trump credit for this uncanny knack for inducing his enemies into the most astonishingly stupid and self-destructive reactions.

This went from:

a) The "bleeding Mika" tweet that a lot of people, including many sympathetic to Trump, found offensive and odd, to

b) The Trump bodyslams CNN tweet, which led to lots of fainting couches being put into use, but most people, I think, just shook their heads, to

c) CNN making itself the center of the story, and the villain, deployed against some ordinary schlump who created a silly, innocuous video, and who is being blackmailed into a groveling apology, like something out of Mao's Cultural Revolution.

At this point, CNN is doing Trump's work for him.

They got the wrong guy and, as Ted Cruz has pointed out, they have probably broken the law.

Ooopsy.

Who would want a recent post-op facelift patient bleeding on their linens? I know I wouldn't, so Trump did the right thing. He speaks the language that working people understand - someone has to clean up after those entitled bitches, lord knows they won't do any actual work themselves.

Kind of makes you wonder what force CNN would bring to bear on someone who might actually have done it some real harm.

Nah.

publish the names and addresses of all CNN employees. Just in case someone wants to send them a thank you card or something.

Tell you what. We won't do that as long as they don't publish any fake news.

In one word. Arrogance. They think too highly of themselves and Trump has exposed that.

Meanwhile their overreaction to the things Trump says end up making me less and less reluctant to be in his corner.

If CNN keeps this up Good luck to the democrats finding someone to run against the big guy, as Jeb called him.

I think CNN is missing the point when they talk about violence against reporters and what the reaction might be.

I have pretty good idea what the response would be from much of America.

Applause.

The One True Ted seems to have learned more than the Lefties and the Whigs (I know, distinction without difference). Help out now and have a real shot at '24.

He's proposed an amendment that could get the IdiotCare repeal through.

I think you are right ed.

He is pretty smart. I hope Trump offers him a seat on the Court and he accepts. I don't think it is in the cards for him to be President.
