"The people of London fought back"

All the people need now is an effective police force. I'm for shaming the Bobbies, if indeed they did run.

Even though large tracts of Europe and many old and famous States have fallen or may fall into the grip of the Gestapo and all the odious apparatus of Nazi rule, we shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender

Ol' Winnie may still be alive.

It is becoming painfully clear to normal folks that the elitists who tell the normal people they are the experts, in charge, and will protect you are lying. We here in the US can have guns to protect ourselves. Those poor bloaks in Europe cannot.

I saw something last night about a MSNBC shill asking, "could police be overreacting?". The answer is a simple "no" (unless he meant the reaction of police running away, but he didn't), and the evidence is that the average citizen is now responding to the attacks with whatever they have. It's good that they are, but that's not a civil society. This is what lefty civil studies give us, open warfare among people. The only good news here is that Londoners are prepared and ready to defend themselves if need be.

Leland, it is a genetic component of every person. If you put a pillow over the face of a comatose person, they will fight to breathe. That's why, when investigating a suicide, investigators look to toxicology, alcohol or drugs. Some people can do the need w/o help, but they are rare.

Isn't the heart of the social contract that the state shall offer protection to its subjects (or citizens if you want to obfuscate the relationship). So what legitimacy does the state have at this point? None, as far as I can see. Which makes revolt mandatory. Unless the subjects are willing to accept being warred on permanently. Step One should be, at the very least, a massive anti-Muslim March in the heart of London. And if the government swill stays aloof from its people...well, then perhaps the Armed Forces can rearrange the deck chairs.

The automatic lefty reaction to Islamic terror is: Oh it's not so bad, It's not really Islam, but Timothy McVeigh but that abortion doc killer in the 1980's, the over-reaction to terror is always worse that the terror.

Leftist democrat proggy fascists are predicable asshats.

I'm now moved to Las Vegas from L.A. I'm in love with place, even the heat is glorious. Yesterday it was 103, but no sweating, and the pool is a comfortable 78 degrees. You jump in and out with no chills. Back in L.A., my friends are bitching about the cold, and there is no swimming. Even in mid-summer the ocean is too cold to swim in unless you're a kid, and then there are the diapers and syringes to watch for.

More important is the feeling and reality of expanded freedoms here. Yesterday, my family and another went out in the desert to go shooting a wide array of firearms we own. It was a short 20 minute drive to a safe area to shoot where there were plenty of others practicing as well. That's another wonderful advantage: you can actually get places here in a reasonable time.

Some of our pack were wearing handguns openly walking into stores and in public as we stopped for refreshments on the way, and you see that regularly with at least one openly armed person seen almost daily in public. I know that means there are many more concealed carries around me, and that feels really good. I don't think these mass shooters or stabbers would get far around here. They may on The Strip where the tourists are, but where locals hang would be pretty tough terrorizing with a short lifespan.

Out shooting was an absolute ball which I have not been able to do near L.A. for a very long time. There were numerous explosions of tannerite. What a fucking blast!

The freedom I'm encountering in starting up a new manufacturing location here is truely inspiring. In L.A. the official answer to everything was "NO" or at best "Maybe, but it's gonna coat you a lot and take forever, and then still maybe no." Here, I just keep being amazed by people telling me "yes, you can do that. There is no rule against it here."

Been to the DMV here a few times to register vehicles and get a new driver's license. Never spent more than 15 minutes getting it done. They put you in the cue in less than 30 seconds and I often get called before I even sit down. Had the same experience Friday at the county permits office. In and out in 10 minutes and found out that I didn't even need the permit I was there for, which I assumed I must need. Before seeing it for myself I never would have believed such a government was possible anymore, but it is with the right mindset and values.

For the first time in a long time I feel like a citizen rather than a subject. I am losing that anxiety of knowing that I'm constantly in violation of local laws just by waking up and breathing in what felt like a place owned by the government.

California sounds like regulatory hell-hole. & the regulations don't actually accomplish anything but misery. Leftists love misery.

Awesome Bagoh. I'm glad you are happy in Las Vegas.

Trooper York said...

The problem with that bags is that you are killing what makes Vegas great by moving there. Not you specifically but Californians in general.

That happens in New York all the time. The imports kill the thing they like about a neighborhood by moving in and displacing the original inhabitants.

But I guess the Carib Indians said the same thing about Columbus.

ricpic said...

All the high end Carib Indian coffee houses had to switch to grog for Columbus's navvies.

Yes, I know that's hardly funny but I'm TRYING!

ampersand said...

Congrats Bags. Now don't start voting for pols that promise gay marriage dowries or condemning private property to Save the Sasquatch. Also don't start gambling the payroll money.

The English, the French, the Germans and the Americans know exactly what needs to be done but wont do it. They treat their own citizens like so much potlatch.

Pre-war Japan also had a religion that procraimed their Emperor a living god. Post-war not so much. So much for religious toleration.

ndspinelli said...

Trooper, There ARE VAST areas in Vegas w/ NO PEOPLE. It is the antithesis of the claustrophobic northeast. Nevada wants and NEEDS more people. Your analogy is both provincial and myopic.

ndspinelli said...

bags, While I love San Diego, both my bride and I know we could never live there year round, for many of the reasons you state. I am so glad to hear you are happy. I hope the honeymoon continues. Keep up the positive updates.

No he isn't Troop.

When leftist progs leave CA - they are the people who take their crap ideology with them and ruin their new state. Just ask Colorado. CA progs and east coast progs have ruined the state.

People like Bagoh are welcome everywhere. I wish we could clone him.

Well, that's the spirit. Always look on the bright-side. To me, 103 degrees in Vegas was too damn hot.

Usually, I'd never disagree with Trooper - but Vegas is just in the middle of fucking desert. You could move a million people there, and it'd be an improvement. Of course, what will happen is these LV assholes will start moving north and "californicate" Carson City and Reno.

And weirdly it's not the Californians that are pushing Nevada Left, its immigration from the Philippines and the 3rd world. They *LOVE* las vegas.

I hate when people say "oh, but its dry heat". Well, then stick your hand in toaster then. That's "Dry heat" too.

The passengers on Flight 93 fought back.

The people of London had to fight back because their government won't. The passengers on Flight 93 had to fight back because the government couldn't. God help us as we're coming closer to becoming the people of London.

Californians move to Nevada to get away from the left. Lots of retirees from the Bay Area in Reno and the south side of Tahoe. We now have a supermajority of Dems in the Cali legislature, busily farting out horrible lefty notions in the form of laws, some so awful that even Moonbeam doesn't like them (albeit only because they threatens his ability to continue to cling to power). Fun Fact: Governor Brown only briefly held a private sector job - as a lawyer. The rest of his massive fail of a career has been in holding political office or striving to regain political power. And he's a legacy; his dad was governor. Get a real job!

Amartel said...

Also, there is a lot of Cali that is not left but we're outnumbered.

Actually, that's not entirely true. There are places and people who do own high-powered weaponry like AR's, but it has to be under certain circumstance and a lot of hoop jumping to get them, but they do sell them and are purchased.
