KLEM FM

One hundred years ago the legendary German fighter pilot Manfred von Richthofen described his 27th aerial victory as 'just another lattice-tail enemy aircraft'

I have a Google alert set to "von Richthofen" which feeds me these links.

This is the centennial of the Red Baron era, and it seems that each of his "kills" is memorialized by a newspaper from the victim's hometown in Britain. The linked article includes a very famous photograph:

Where have we seen that photo before? (that's von Richthofen in the cockpit and his brother Lothar is seated with his legs crossed).

What did he mean by "just another lattice-tail enemy aircraft"?

The Brits were seriously outgunned 100 years ago.

The Zeppelin song is yet another song rooted in Clarksdale, MS or thereabouts.

How about that - I don't think I have listened to that song since that album was released. I read the Wiki story on the song, which led to the Willie Dixon page, and then, for whatever reason, I read about hyenas. Who knew they were feliforms, I would have guessed they were closer to being Canidae. Reading that, of course, led to Leonard Bernstein's overture he wrote for a work based on Voltaire's satire.

Which leads me back to Willie Dixon, Vicksburg, the Flood of 1927, Biedenharn, Delta and Coca Cola and how, sometimes, even after a legal settlement, one still doesn't have a leg to stand on.
