It looks like Milo left his friends behind......

After a neocon nevertrumper hit job orchestrated by Evan McMuffin the Alt-right homo gadfly Milo has lost everything. He lost his book deal where he got a $250,000 advance. He lost his podcast. He lost his gig speaking at the Conservative circle jerk. And he has resigned from Breitbart which was his home base.

The fake news channels are full of reports that the Breitbart staffers demanded his resignation. Milo says that it was his decision. He said: “I would be wrong to allow my poor choice of words to detract from my colleagues’ important reporting, so today I am resigning from Breitbart, effective immediately. This decision is mine alone. When your friends have done right by you, you do right by them. For me, now, that means stepping aside so my colleagues at Breitbart can get back to the great work they do.”

I guess we can take him at his word. Breitbart stood to make a lot of money off of him so it seems unlikely that they would force him out. Follow the money.

Vox Day has offered to publish his book  at his publishing house. Or he can self publish. He can start his own podcast or even his own network the way Anthony Cumia did. There are a lot of alternatives out there if you have an audience. The old paradigm is over.  If there is money to be made he will be able to access it..

I just have a sneaking suspicion that he is going  to change. That he is going to "see the light" and come back as a liberal. Just like David Brock. Then he will be welcome everywhere. Then pedophilia will be no big thing. A mere bag of shells.

So we have to let the dust settle and see what happens.

Agreed. Milo can come back in ways that weren't imaginable even 20 years ago.

I imagine he also knows where a few bodies are buried, so he might want to take advantage of the old Castro proverb that revenge is a dish best served cold.

He can stream a podcast like Cumia or Bobby Kelly or Jay Mohr and charge a dollar and clean up.

It is a new world.

And now, just to make a point about worms turning, we have an old vid of Bill Maher defending pedophilia. Remember when that was the same sex marriage crowd's next frontier?

Along with incest? And polygamy?

Milo could have all kinds of fun.

Even a great mind like Oscar Wilde was "off." It is impossible to be homosexual and not be off. The desperation on the part of some conservatives to take possession of Milo as their conservative homosexual was just that...desperation. And a complete misunderstanding of what makes homosexuals tick. Homosexuals are driven to undermine EVERYTHING. Does that jibe with what makes a conservative?

Not in a Leftist-dominated society.

That's why people like trump. He rocks the boat.

If he flips to 'seeing the light' then it won't bode well for him at all. Either his conservativism is simply nothing more than a troll.

Everybody loves a good comeback story.

Speaking of ... being off. Every time I see that photo of Oscar Wilde I must think of an acquaintance, Trip Payne. Their attitudes are alike. Their speech is alike. Their brilliance is alike, although Trip is a lot smarter, and they look alike in an odd mong kind of way.

As a child Trip was banned from the children's competition of the NYT crossword tournament because he kept winning. As adult he does very well there but now there are others in his league.

I was thinking about this today recalling an acquaintance bragging about his dad's high IQ and photographic memory. He memorized the entire encyclopedia and could tell you the page things were on. Someone said, "He should go on Jeopardy!" I didn't mention I've seen them on Jeopardy and other shows too, like "Do you Want to be a Millionaire" and on other shows too some especially to show off their vast knowledge and mad solving skillz but smart as they are they do not alway do all that well. They do not prevail brilliantly as you'd expect and when you mention this, especially to Trip Payne, he gets rather tetchy.

I looked at NYT crossword tournament photos and Trip Payne jumped right out. If you met him you'd find him charming and gracious and disarming, a carefully kept mask that keeps hidden a searing wit. And I've found a way of approaching his puzzles is to view Trip foremost as Southern, fair, and demonically clever.

Speaking of ... clever constructors, so is Brendan Emmett Quigley. He scares me. And he's a bit overly fond of actors, producers, directors, sports figures, coaches, owners, teams, mascots.

The name of the puzzle I just did is "Black Friday"

the "Aha!" moment came midpuzzle, and that's the way, uh huh uh huh, I like it, uh huh, uh huh, with the clue "With 47 Across, green" that solved to "eco" + "endly" and I realized all these annoying clues are divided this way with a single black square. And "FRI" fits before "endly" for a solve that makes sense; Think of [FRI] in the black square between them for ECO [FRI] ENDLY. Ding.

Then all the other baffling solves fell into place. All the other goofy answers have a black square dividing a two-word answer, and one of the words doesn't make sense without the back square between them considered filled with [FRI]. Thus black Friday.

And I would have loved this puzzle were it not for all the actors and actresses on shows I've never heard of. These constructors use industry magazines to keep up with new industry names and it pisses me off. I don't want to be an expert on Hollywood names, or made into one just to keep up with puzzles. I resent it. Whereas all the sports names comes from genuine love of the subject.

Milo is a sympathetic figure, but he takes delight in being perverse. Conservatives should not invest too much in the stability of his views on anything. He's a gadfly and not a spokesman...... I don't think he's done anything wrong, but there's a good chance he ends up as an obscure footnote to the narrative of our times.....,His best bet is to write a very, very good book. That would keep him relevant and make his critics look like pissants.

Concur with Nic, well thought, William.

He has a standing offer to publish on Castiglia House which is Vox Days imprint. He publishes science fiction authors who are blackballed by the very liberal publishing world.

He can write a tour-de-force and name the names. It is all up to him.

It is a new world.

If he plays his cards right he can be the next Paul Lynde.

Love Milo. William is correct. My perception has been that he is a damaged soul who finds some temporary extreme joy in crushing leftist thought. But his conservatism is not deep, and his extreme joy will be brief.

Why would he flip to the progressive side and be "famous" for a day or two, a small fish in a big pond? The kid's no dullard, he's anti-authoritarian and he's got guts. He wouldn't fit in at all in progressiveland.

That's what they all do. They make a big deal of their conservatism but the support the left. They tell you to vote for Hillary. David Brock. Bill Kristol. Glenn Beck. George Will.
