What terrible movie deserves a remake?

Reddit top voted comments...

While it's not terrible, just outdated... All Quiet on the Western Front deserves a remake of the Saving Private Ryan caliber.

Spawn; it wasn't the worst movie ever but it wasn't great either and the graphics have aged terribly. For all the dark and gritty comic book adaptations, I think it deserves another chance.

DUNE! It deserves a series, a big one, 3 seasons or more..

Imagine a modern "Maximum Overdrive"

Logan's Run

Aeon Flux

Eragon

Dragonball.  Hollywood should be devoured by flames of Hades for what they did.

The Miracle Worker, the unfinished story of tea party type voters getting the American media to understand the world they live in.

The workers hold the media's hand under flowing water and finger spell into their palms "water" and the media trembles with excitement and grins broadly with new comprehension and returns, "dog poo." The workers lead media into the garden and spells, "flower" into their palms, and media nods affirmation, "garbage dump." The workers hand media their asses discrediting them so thoroughly that nobody believes anything they say or print, and media clap their hands to their epiphany and return, "racist, misogynist, homophobe." The workers replace the media and all the subject of their coverage and media returns with their hagiographies.

Bah; time for someone in Hollywood to be creative and come up with something new rather than a remake.

But since they asked; how about remaking Ghostbusters 2016 into Ghostbusters 3 with a mixed gender team interested in starting (or maintaining) a new business more than obsessing about the content of their lunch.

I doubt Clive Cussler will give anyone the rights; but I'm sure part of him would like to see someone really make one of his Dirk Pitt novels into a movie worthy of the book. Raise the Titanic was crap and after being hounded by the no talent actor from Austin; Cussler let McConaughey make Sahara, which was also crap.

Amen to that, Leland. Why go to the trouble of remaking a terrible movie? Make a good one in the first place.

Fear Strikes Out w/ a heterosexual actor who can throw a baseball in the lead role.

Terminator was very 'Eighties, it could use a revamp as long as they don't turn it into a cgi train wreck.

Plan 9 from outerspace, Highlander 2 and frankly the rest of the highlander series, The Star Trek that saved the whales. A star wars Return of the Jedi going back to its original name of Star Wars: Revenge of the Jedi and without Ewoks. So many to choose from.

"Silkwood" only this time Meryl Streep becomes a method actor and actually dies in a car crash.

Deborah; they already made Terminator Genisys in 2015, and it was more of a train wreck than CGI could do alone.

If it stunk the first time, let it die.

April, usually stinkiness follows death, but considering the odious nature of Hollywood, the smell of decay proceeds them.

Bonfire of the Vanities was a great book but a terrible movie that lacked dyspepsia. It's very hard to bring dyspepsia alive on the screen. Nonetheless, I think it would make a great miniseries for some star or director who wouldn't mind wrecking their careers in Hollywood to do justice to the work. ...How about a remake of GWTW with Denzel Washington in the Clark Gable role and Rosie O'Donnell as Mamie. Such casting would cause many people to recast their views on racial stereotypes. Meryl Streep could bring gravitas and nuance to the Butterfly McQueen role.

Leland, hadn't heard of Terminator Genisys. I don't watch a lot of TV, so I miss a lot of ads.

Deborah, unless you are planning a party with LSD and want to see how much you can really trip; I'd have to say you haven't missed anything by skipping Terminator Genisys. It's best review is that it is better than Terminator 3 or 4; which you may or may not know existed as well. Personally, I sort of knew Terminator 4 existed, but still had to search it before posting it in this comment. For 4; Arnold was then the Governator and liberals said he couldn't do movies because liberals. Therefore, they hired another actor and CGI'd Arnold's face to pay Arnold royalties for use of his likeness. So if you want to see Terminator made over into a CGI trainwreck; you might want to start there, in 2009.
