Canada Judge Suspended for Wearing Trump Cap in Court

Montreal: The Canadian authorities have suspended a judge for wearing a cap with Donald Trump's campaign slogan "Make America Great Again" in court after November's US presidential election, local media reported on Friday.

Ontario Court Judge Bernd Zabel "stopped being assigned to preside in court December 21, 2016," court spokeswoman Kate

Andrew told the local daily The Hamilton Spectator without commenting about his future.

The decision comes after the court received a series of complaints about Zabel's vocal support for the US president-elect. His official position requires displaying political neutrality.

Zabel - who was appointed in 1990 - entered a courtroom in the Lake Ontario port city of Hamilton the day after the November 8 election wearing the Trump campaign's trademark red cap.

He explained his decision later, saying it was a response to criticism from colleagues who "all voted for Hillary" Clinton, Trump's Democratic rival, the Toronto Star reported him as saying.

I do not support him.

He obviously wants to keep Americans, mostly celebrities, from moving to Canada in protest. That is not fair. Tear down that wall, Justice Zabel!

This is the 10,000 post. I just noticed.

UPS just sent me a text saying stay home we won't need you tonight. And btw we won't be needing you again.

Laid off via a text.

It was a temporary thing. So.

Ah shit, Lem. That's bad. Sorry doesn't help. Maybe it's just the mid-winter lull?

I got two packages coming tomorrow, and then two coming on Wednesday. Who will deliver them now?

Lem the artificially intelligent said...

I was sorting them. I understand some people get those delivery driver jobs after going through the trenches where I was first.

I wasn't very good either. I think they told me on average they expect about a 1000 packages 📦 Sorted per hour. I was sorting about 750.

It's a Union gig. You need a rabbi. That's how it works in a Union shop.

You needed to find out who was the shop steward and kiss his ass. That's the way it works in the real world.

My uncles were in the ILA back in the day. When you had to shape up to get picked for one of the gangs to work the docks.

You could see how it was if you ever saw the movie "On the Waterfront."

They went to a seniority system in the 1980's though. Of course now the docks in New York are dead and everything has been turned into dog parks and bike lanes and trapeze schools. Honest jobs for honest workers have been replaced in New York. Jersey got all of the shipping because of the corrupt practices of the New York Politicos who wanted to waterfront for development instead of shipping.
