What becomes more messed up the longer you think about it?

Reddit top comments...

They named the store "Banana Republic." (PC alert?)

That the alphabets order is arbitrary.

Just how many people died during the Second World War

How big the universe is.
[this mother fucker](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/GN-z11) is about 32 billion light years from earth, and it's probably nowhere near the most distant thing from our planet

You can't be absolutely sure that whatever your senses tell you is reality.

That Mickey Mouse has a dog named Pluto.
Think about this for a second. Goofy is a dog as well, but he gets rights and respect. Do we ever see any other pets in that universe?
The only difference between Goofy and Pluto is marginal intelligence. Mickey Mouse keeps a mentally challenged person as a pet.

Whenever I am flying across country I look down at all the houses and think how insignificant my problems are; that there are so many people much worse off. Strange?

The necessity of learning from mistakes. It takes a lifetime of shit to learn where to step, and by then you can hardly walk.

Goofy can talk.

Then again, so can Leftists.

As for things that are incomprehensible, why does every generation have to elect a Democrat President so it can appreciate Conservatives?

This is the Jack Handy thread.

That our brain thinks without us knowing it, and that what we think we are thinking is really the post hoc rationalization for what has already been previously thought.

Think about it.

That's pretty messed up.

That there aren't any good Westerns on TV anymore.

Or private eye shows or spy shows (I mean Man From UNCLE-type) or war shows or historical stuff, etc.

The income celebrities from stage, screen, music, and sports make and then support socialism.

How much of the celebrity support for socialism is just lip service, though? Like Madonna offering to give blow jobs to everyone who voted for Clinton (and then not following through)! Just kidding, but seriously, they most of them talk a good line but then turn around and hide assets, form a corporation to avoid individual income tax consequences, not pay taxes at all. Etc. In order to avoid/deflect blame they parrot talking points written down on cue cards.

That at any given time, anywhere, you could drop dead.

If you notice, and this applies to Lefties across the board, they keep all the money they get paid (almost nothing to charity) and have batteries of lawyers and accountants to make sure they hang on to every penny possible. Same for the tree huggers and the million dollar fuel-guzzling jets they fly to these big "Save The Environment" conferences where they tell the world to us less gas.

How many red states have gone blue (or at least purple) because the social and fiscal policies these people espouse have been imposed on them and they moved? This is how NH, VT, ME, NV all went Lefty.

Frankly, I think a lot of it is just about polishing their halo and feeling superior to all us bitter clingers and Deplorables. After all, how do they come up with such stuff if they're not desperate to feel superior?

That was the hook with the Poor White trash in the South for a century. They may have been inferior to the local squire and the gentry, but they could always feel superior to any blacks, even ones with college degrees.

I amend... that people would believe said celebrities, with all their income, support socialism for altruistic reasons.

The reason that reality becomes more messed up the longer you think about it is - in one word - ego. You, me, every one, is terribly invested in his own life. There's nothing wrong with that. In fact it's healthy. And that it could end at any given time, anywhere, is a shocking insult. To the ego. Easy enough to say, "But the species goes on." Doesn't help.
