Sam Cook

I watched a video of a woman named Panda singing Bring it on Home to Me on X Factor. The woman said it's one of her favorite songs and Simon Cowell said, "Mine too." So I checked Amazon Prime to see if they offered the song. They do. Turns out to have beeen sung originally by Sam Cook. Amazon shows songs on his album Greatest Hits and I clicked on the songs rated with full bars straight across, You Send Me, Cupid, Twistin' the Night Away, and Wonderful World.

Sam Cook (né Cooke) had an ignominious death at an L.A. motel around the same time as Bobby Fuller.

Unsolved mysteries.

Sam Cooke: The Man And His Music is a fantastic greatest hits album that, proceeding chronologically, is also a fascinating trail from gospel roots to party scene to angry death.

Remember when r&b singers had tragic, sordid deaths. Now they mostly die of old age. It's the rap stars who have the flaming ends nowadays.

I have a Sam Cook channel on my Pandora.

You get some classic songs from Sam, Issac Hayes, Little Anthony and Curtis Mayfield.

Also set up a station called Christmas Soul for some great Christmas music.
