FBI Clinton emails investigation is back on

The FBI is probing new emails related to Hillary Clinton, FBI Director James Comey said in a Friday letter.

"In previous congressional testimony, I referred to the fact that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) had completed its investigation of former Secretary Clinton's personal email server. Due to recent developments, I am writing to supplement my previous testimony," Comey wrote.

This time we won't leave any stone unturned ... or something.

Dare we presume all the WikiLeaks are arousing the public ire?

And all that portends?

This time we will cross the eyes before putting our ducks in a row.

If this is going to be an October surprise, it'll make the deadline, just barely.

November surprise?

Why not?

We live in the age of instant global communication.

When I go to the polling place, there are these people who stand out front and try to hand you campaign literature. Must work or else they wouldn't do it. Someone explained to me a long time ago, that as a young lawyer, if you want to make political connections, that's were you have to pay your dues. I didn't.

DC swampbeast Comey sensed which way the wind was blowing and, voila, it's back ON.

Obama can't pardon someone who hasn't been convicted or formally accused or indicted, correct?

This way the current president can walk out of office in January and give Clinton a clean slate. It might be a little messy in the meantime, but the messiness will occur mostly after Nov 8.

Michael Haz said...

This is how I feel right now.

But here is how I think:

Comey can take another mulligan.

If Hillary wins, the investigation is over.

Hillary can refuse to answer media questions because of "an ongoing investigation".

The Clinton campaign will drop a huge, false, corrupt, and damaging bomb on Trump sometime this weekend.

This is not over.

Lem the artificially intelligent said...

Paul Krugman: Comey needs to provide full info immediately. Otherwise he has clearly made a partisan intervention, betraying his office.
Panic time.

john said...

The partisan intervention took place on a Sky Harbor tarmac on a hot July day.

Methadras said...

If Trump was smart, he'd comment on it and he would say, "As POTUS, I will ensure full prosecutorial power towards HRC."

Comey and dare I say Trump have been handed a gift. The leftists are in full freak out mode.

ricpic said...

So, did Comey just drive a stake through her heart?

My hot take which I just tweeted.

The reopening of the #Hillaryemail investigation is a distraction from the @wikileaks revelations into the shadowy @ClintonFdn 💰 machine. Which for some reason have reminded two separate things to the delight of the Clintons I suppose.

Michael Haz said...

Multiple news reports on Twitter stating that Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook has deleted his entire twitter stream for the past several years.

Destruction of evidence? Worried about something?

Not a happy day in the Brooklyn Clinton HQ I'd guess.

ricpic said...

Lem, would Krugman be squawking if this were a diversion? Not in my opinion. Anyway, why can't people be aware of two things, Wikileaks AND her emails, at the same time?

Not correct.

Krugman is about as meaningful as a morning dump. No one takes that fucking gnome seriously.

bagoh20 said...

Because this stuff has finally reached a tipping point, the are two possibilities:

1) Comey needs to save her again before it's too late.

2) Comey needs to save his reputation before it's too late

He can't do both.

bagoh20 said...

Wait a minute. A morning dump is very meaningful. Try to get through your day without it.

Even on a FRIDAAAAAAY! WooHOoo!

ricpic said...

If Comey were doing this in order to save her he'd have to spin on a dime and say "Nothing there!" next week. Doesn't strike me as the type to have brass balls that big.

bagoh20 said...

If Hillary loses this thing, we have Wikileaks and Project Veritas to thank, and of course Hillary herself. This is the best I've felt about this thing in a month, but I've had that feeling before. I mean, we ARE talking that slippery, slimey, protected eel ball known as the Clintons.

bagoh20 said...

Isn't it telling what it takes for the FBI to see what every fair-minded American saw a long time ago?

Trooper York said...

It was always going to tighten up.

What America should be focusing in on is that if Hillary is elected we will be going to war with Russia. It is almost guarantied.

Trooper York said...

There has been a world wide explosion of opposition to the globalist agenda. In nation after nation patriots have rallied to defend their national sovereignty against the elites. In the United Kingdom, Poland, Hungary and even the Philippines people have had enough of Barack Obama and Hillary's freckles foreign policy and the neocon war mongering.

America has to decide if they want more wars. That is what you are going to get with Hillary.

Leland said...

I see Lucy is holding the football again.

I'm not saying the case shouldn't be opened, and we all know a lot more than we did then, and what we knew then should have been handed over to a prosecutor to take to a grand jury. My prediction is this will get squashed the Thursday before the election. A lot of platitudes will be made about the WikiLeaks data or other "hacked" information". And then the FBI will come out, claim something about lack of chain of custody and thus no one can be for sure the authenticity of the information. And the Friday through Sunday discussions will be something about how the hacks are just foreign interest trying to illegally influence our election. Monday and Tuesday will all be about; "we have to win this for Hillary to make sure foreign governments like Russia don't influence us".

Lem the artificially intelligent said...

The NYT is saying the new emails Comey is talking about came from pervy Weiners sexting revelations.

Whoever balked at not taking care of Weiner is going to sleep with the fishes next.

Leland said...

And then I click over to EBL's site and see that we share the same thoughts. Sorry EBL...

john said...

Rabel - Then it wouldn't be a pardon, right? No way could Obama "pardon" Clinton from a closed investigation because it would be tacit to admitting his knowledge of her guilt. Pardoning Clinton with an active investigation would be easy for Obama as it would be done "for the good of the country".

That's all I was saying.

Lem the artificially intelligent said...

Imagine if a leaky Weiner caused Hillary Clinton's downfall.

Methadras said...

In reality, I seriously doubt anything will come out of this. If charges weren't filed before, why would they be filed now? I'm seeing this as a misdirected distraction.

edutcher said...

Nothing happens in the next 10 days, but that's the point.

It's the hot topic right now, so the damage is done.

Can you say October Surprise?

Leland said...

Ok, if from the Weiner case, and considering some of the WikiLeaks email showing Huma acknowledging "Hillary knew" about various things; there may be something. WikiLeaks email do nothing for a criminal investigation, as showing chain of custody is likely impossible. But if they have a text message from Huma's phone showing a discussion of knowledge of criminal behavior (Comey said there was no evidence of intent, because they didn't know what they were doing) because they new what they were doing was wrong... boom!

But I'm not getting my hopes up.

edutcher said...

And just to point up how momentous this all is, the Mexican peso has crashed on the news.

Dominoes.

john said...

Why, why, why, Huma finally asks herself, did I stay married to this big dick?

"Erection 2016: Huma’s Weiner Dogs Hillary Campaign

FBI Obtains Clinton Emails Found on His Device — And Huma’s!

Dust Bunny Queen said...

Because this stuff has finally reached a tipping point, the are two possibilities:

@ Bags

Possibility #3: Obama is involved in these emails as well. Sending and receiving classified information over Hillary's private server. We already know that he had communicated with her even though he "claimed" that he didn't hear about her server until the "media" broke the story.

This is now an attempt to save Obama's ass even if it means throwing Hillary under the bus, implicating Huma and Weiner. None of them are innocent and it is now a frantic spin to keep Obama out of the story.

edutcher said...

oopsy, you just nailed it.

Pissy's name has begun to surface in some of the emails and we now know for sure he knew all about it.

Dust Bunny Queen said...

Possibility #4: Weiner has had enough of being kicked around and being the third wheel in Huma and Hillary's little love fest. Their refusal to even try to shelter him from his own stupidity has pissed him off. Here...FBI take these emails and do with them what you will. Eff you Huma.

bagoh20 said...

" leaky Weiner"

Lem's Levity at it's best! Cracks me up.

bagoh20 said...

"This is now an attempt to save Obama's ass even if it means throwing Hillary under the bus,..."

I wouldn't want to be depending on that group holding their tongue for him, but you may be right in that the public will be satiated and distracted by Hillary going down enough to let him walk away in the dust storm.

Rabel said...

John, sorry to be short. Phone posting. Pardon power is almost unlimited per SC in 1866. Usable any time after a criminal act was or might have been committed. He could pardon her for any criminal act hypothetically committed during or after her term as SOS.

Dust Bunny Queen said...

Possibility #5: The real information that we peons don't get to see (as opposed to the jiggereypokery polls and media lies that we do get) is telling the Dems that Trump is going to win. The FBI knows it. Obama knows it.

Obama can pardon Hillary before the inauguration and do it before his OWN complicity comes out. After the inauguration, a President Trump will come down on her with everything he can at which point Obama also will be drug into the process.

As an aside, as soon as this news of a reopened investigation came out, the market began to go down a bit, the Mexican Peso when even further down. Both indications that a Trump victory is considered more likely.

Amartel said...

"He could pardon her for any criminal act hypothetically committed during or after her term as SOS."

But wouldn't he have to identify the criminal act in order to pardon it?
Kind of a fly in the ointment, especially since he had at the very least constructive knowledge of her criminal acts. Could he pardon himself at the same time? How lame would that be. No way he wants to be associated with her any more than is absolutely necessary.

edutcher said...

oopsy #5 does seem quite viable.

Remember, these people know the real numbers.

Dude, you need to lean against something when you post.

PS I don't doubt all of them have a safe deposit box with the key in a good friend's custody.

Just in case that silly old Clinton body count is for real.

ampersand said...

Whoever wins I suspect Comey will be gone after January. He played cute listing her crimes
then added his no reasonable prosecutor nonsense. He should have quit.

One of the first things the Clintons did when they got in the first time was get rid of FBI director William Sessions and replace him with their man Freeh, without a peep out of anyone.

Lotta chicken counting going on here.

Michael Haz said...

Classified information was found on several devices owned by Huma Abedin that were found in the Weiner/Abedin household, according to news reports.

Hmmm. Where do you suppose she sent it after it went onto her devices? To her family at the Muslim Brotherhood?

That's an interesting possibility, right?

Trooper York said...

We are not counting on the chickens. We are just pointing out that Huma emailed Hillary about Weiner choking his chicken in front of an underage girl. You know. Those women who clutch their pearls at that beast Donald Trump.

Sex. Sex. Sex.

It is what is important right? Megyn Bloody Kelly thinks so. Andrea Mitchel thinks so. Chuck Todd thinks so. Anderson Cooper thinks so.

If they turn the discussion to policy...who does that help?

Dust Bunny Queen said...

Wow. Haz has a mind that is even more evil than mine or Lem. I'm impressed!

I like that thought. Huma has been playing for the Sauds and Muslim team forever.

Yea, I can see the people with dirt on Trump yelling: "“Damn the torpedoes “Praise the LORD and pass the ammunition!”.

bagoh20 said...

I don't think they have anything that matters on Trump now. It's too predictable as a response and an attempt at distraction.

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

Don't let up the pressure now. The Clintons always get caught, if the effort is diligent enough. Bilbo was disbarred and had to pay Paula Jones nearly $1 million. Think about that. Disbarred. Even a jury of his professional lawyer colleagues said he was too sleazy to be one of them.

Don't. Let. It. Up.

The Dude said...

It is interesting to me that multiple news sites claim that "something" was found, yet no one, not Comey, not Drudge, not nobody will say what that something is.

Will we ever know? Will knowing make even the slightest bit of difference to a corrupted electorate?

Stay tuned...

Michael Haz said...

Something, that's the operative word. Something.

Something big enough and important enough to toss the outcome of a presidential election. Something big enough to ruin an FBI Director's lifetime of good work. Something big enough for and indictment of somebody, very, very important.

The Dude said...

The problem is, as I see it, the FBI does not have the power to indict anyone for anything, that power rests with the "Justice" department, and we know how they roll - no democrat has ever committed a crime.
