peach pie with ice cream

The crust has corn flakes, the topping is the same ingredients but with more liquid and milk soured with lime because I don't have any buttermilk around here, then baking soda to compensate for biscuit-lke topping. The filling has butter and lime and peach brandy added.

It is very good. And not just regular very good, excellently very good. And that's no brag either, just plain unbiased fact. Crunch, soft texture, warm and cold, sweet and tart all together at the same time and with a faint hint of nutmeg and cinnamon without those spices overtaking.

I want to make some and eat it. Now. That looks good.

Maybe it's just been bad luck, but the peaches this year in my neck o' the woods have not been real good. The Michigan peaches were OK, which is what I expect. But the Colorado and Idaho peaches have been disappointing.
