Quinnipiac: Clinton-Trump Race Too Close To Call

QuinnipiacDemocrat Hillary Clinton has 42 percent to Republican Donald Trump's 40 percent - too close to call - as American voters say neither candidate would be a good president and that the campaign has increased hatred and prejudice in the nation, according to a Quinnipiac University National poll released today.

This compares to results of a June 1 national poll by the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN- uh-pe-ack) University, showing Clinton edging Trump 45 - 41 percent.

American voters are deeply divided along gender, racial, age and party lines. Women back Clinton 50 - 33 percent while men back Trump 47 - 34 percent.

White voters back Trump 47 - 34 percent. Black voters back Clinton 91 - 1 percent and Hispanic voters back her 50 - 33 percent. Voters 18 to 34 years old go Democratic 48 - 23 percent, while voters over 65 years old go Republican 51 - 35 percent.

Democrats go to Clinton 89 - 3 percent, as Republicans go to Trump 84 - 6 percent. Independent voters are divided with 36 percent for Trump and 34 percent for Clinton.

Both top candidates get negative favorability ratings, 34 - 57 percent for Trump and 37 - 57 percent for Clinton.

So we're back to a dead heat.

At least officially, but that bulge for Cacklepants among women doesn't really compete with all the other polls. Remember the skew?

That's where it went.

Is there some way they can both lose?

Democrats are very loyal to their brand. Corruptocrat, inc.

My favorite dream is having Trump walk off at the convention saying "nevermind," and having HRC arrested during her acceptance speech.

Not much to hold onto...

Only April wants to go back to the One True Ted. Everybody else knows he's a lost cause.

Don't hold your breath on those numbers. Trump gets much better support in other polls.

Democrats go to Clinton 89 - 3 percent, as Republicans go to Trump 84 - 6 percent.

Same here. A lot of anger on the Demo side as much as the R.

Also remember Q-Pac is very Leftish. Take all this with a big grain of salt. I'm just surprised they're calling it this close.

Trump landslide in November. With every Muzzie attack women will see less reason to vote historically and more reason to vote for a protector.

OK, Scott Adams, who has usually praised The Donald as a persuader, notes, as April, the polls didn't go too well after Hillary survived primary season. His take: the Demos have branded him as a racist. And yet, of the last 3 big polls, 2 have us back at neck and neck.

How can this be?

Again, everybody's on vaca. Check back after Labor Day.

PS ric, you may have something there.

A FWIW piece off Irish, a therapist looks at a Cacklepants-Fauxcahontas appearance.

Intriguing, if nothing else.

It really all boils down on who actually goes to vote on the election day.

So blacks support Hillary by 91% but if they aren't motivated to go and vote, like they were for Obama, it is a big "so what?".

In the latest Brexit, the young people are bitching that the old crusters were the ones who voted for the exit and they, the young, were screwed. Well, tough shit. That's your problem. You, young dopes, outnumber the elderly. Why didn't YOU go out and vote.

Show up and vote or shut up.

That's my dream too.

oopsy, that's why we're getting the barrage.

There's no enthusiasm for Cacklepants, so they need to gin up the fear and test fly anything that will get people out.

A few weeks ago, Fox told us Trump was getting 26% support from blacks because of immigration.

Again, these numbers are all over the map, but it shows why Trump's support isn't going away.

Dreams are for people that are asleep.

Quinnipiac is in Hamden, CT. a short drive from where I grew up in Bristol. I had a high school friend who went there, he was able to commute. These polls really pretty this obscure school on the map. When they first started polling they skewed far left. Maybe, w/ all the bogus leftist polls they found their niche being legit. Who knew??

I love the ebb and flow of the demoralizing attempts by the media to show that Trump is losing or going to lose only to see another bullshit poll showing a dead heat. Why are people falling for this still? April, I'm looking at you.

Some people are just over invested in Trumps failure. Some of these pundits or talk show hosts or bloggers have a gig were they are the crazy iconoclast types who say the outrageous things that everyone else is afraid to say. So when a candidate comes along who says these things and is successful they turn on him as one. Greg Gutfield, Mark Levin, Ace of Spades and Glenn Beck are all examples of that.

Trump could cure cancer and part the Red Sea and they would complain that their shoes got muddy.

Rice bowls all the way down.

I've been demoralized about Trump from the get-go.

Joe Biden, America's Putin said...

Trump could shoot someone and his true believers would still cheer. Notice how many formerly really smart people who don't trust Trump are all trash now. At least Trump has a few washed up celebrity sportsdudes.

Joe Biden, America's Putin said...

I know I know - more demoralizing polls we msut ignore.

Kasich and Ryan beat Hillary in swing state polls while Trump is losing.

Joe Biden, America's Putin said...

I'm wondering when it will dawn on everyone that we made a huge mistake? Probably sometime early Nov.

Trooper York said...

We didn't make a mistake April. You are making a mistake underestimating Trump. Just the way you did in the primaries. You are invested in Trumps failing. There is nothing he can do that is right in your eyes. These formerly really smart people have the same attitude.

So the poor stupid plebes like me and Ed are going to have to elect Trump without you or George Will or Paul Ryan or anyone else who wants to sabatoge the Republican Nominee so Hillary can win.

We got your number.

Joe Biden, America's Putin said...

mmmmm no. I understand why you see it that way. but no. Trump has piles of baggage.
In an election year with piles of Clinton baggage, you don't send in someone with just as much negative baggage to fight that fight. I hope I'm wrong.

I'm hearing that it's Trump's strategy to be losing now. *oi*. right. Good thinking!

btw- i'm not #never trump. I'm dump trump.

Only way we stand a chance in Nov.

You were never trump from the beginning and will be until the bitter end.

Of course what will be really bitter is the day he is sworn in as President.
