Freda Payne sky

The camera took 266 photos of the sunset tonight and I looked through for a good one to divide into four and enlarge big as they go and fill a wall and I found one. And right then the photographs together started singing to me. I mean it. Here, look.

Oh Sky, I know it. But you're a terrible singer.

I don't need the to sky to sing. Not tonight anyway, because I wouldn't be listening and can't hear anything besides the hum in my own head, as I'm still stuck back in the Havel article, which is intensely dense and full of things I don't quite understand but want to and do in some places.

Like this:

"Why was Solzhenitsyn driven out of his own country? Certainly not because he represented a unit of real power, that is, not because any of the regime's representatives felt he might unseat them and take their place in government. Solzhenitsyn's expulsion was something else: a desperate attempt to plug up the dreadful wellspring of truth, a truth which might cause incalculable transformations in social consciousness, which in turn might one day produce political debacles unpredictable in their consequences. And so the post-totalitarian system behaved in a characteristic way: it defended the integrity of the world of appearances in order to defend itself. For the crust presented by the life of lies is made of strange stuff. As long as it seals off hermetically the entire society, it appears to be made of stone. But the moment someone breaks through in one place, when one person cries out, "The emperor is naked!"—when a single person breaks the rules of the game, thus exposing it as a game—everything suddenly appears in another light and the whole crust seems then to be made of a tissue on the point of tearing and disintegrating uncontrollably."

I'm thinking scar tissue and the potatoes Chip cooked the other day.

I'll never get used to seeing a chef take blow torch to a dish.

Which brings up Venezuela.

How do they "fix" that mess w/o causing more pain... I don't think they can take any more pain.

We should do some kind of Marshal Plan after they give up their stupid notion of a socialist paradise of course.

DC is so crooked, DC fears putting a crook in charge would expose them.

Trying to expel Trump has failed.

In the late 80's I was in a motel that had the ubiquitous free breakfast. This was before those damn beeping waffle irons came along. It was mid range motel w/ an average breakfast. Staying @ the motel was a busload of Russian tourists. We were in Boston. When they got to the buffet they looked like seagulls attacking a picnic lunch on the beach. They were eating as they walked through the line and stuffing food in their pockets and pocketbooks. I said to my bride, "This tells these people they've been lied to about the US for generations." A few years later that Commie shell game collapsed. The US duopoly shell game is about to collapse as well. It's needed. It will get ugly. I would get out of the stock market.

They don't fear Hillary. Hillary is their kind of crook.

Wishful thinking. There have been many such moments, many such places, too many disqualifying incidents to mention, and many people crying out a lot more things than merely the emperor is naked. It salotmore than that. A slotmore. Amore slot, I'm telling you, sometimes this lyxdesia is i bat sidabling.

Backwards or forwards, each "aha" makes a difference.
