"Ex-wife’s claim: Club shooter was gay"

New York PostSitora Yusufiy, who was married to Mateen in 2009 for three months, made the shocking claim on Brazilian television station SBT Brazil.
Her fiancé, Marco Dias, speaking in Portuguese on her behalf, said that Yusufiy believed that Mateen had “gay tendencies” and that his father had called him gay in front of her. Dias also claimed “the FBI asked her not to tell this to the American media.”
The bombshell came as a male former classmate of Omar Mateen said he had been asked out romantically by the mass killer, who reportedly was a virtual regular at the Pulse nightclub, having visited it more than a dozen times over the years.
The former classmate said he would hang out with Mateen, hitting gay bars after attending class at Indian River Community College police academy in 2006 — and one time Mateen asked him out “romantically,” according to the Palm Beach Post. (for more go here)
At The Federalist a question is asked "What if Mateen Wasn't Targeting Gay People At All?". Excerpt...
...Mateen claimed he was doing this in solidarity with Boston marathon bombers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, and Moner Mohammad Abu-Salha, the first U.S. citizen to carry out a suicide attack in Syria. He also said he was protesting “the U.S. bombing in Syria and Iraq and the killing of women and children.”
No mention of carrying out an Islamic punishment for homosexuality, no mention of gay or lesbian Americans, no mention of his victims at all. Of course, it’s no secret that Islam condemns homosexuality, and that ISIS has executed gay men by throwing them from rooftops in Mosul. So it’s possible that Mateen decided to attack Pulse, a well-known gay nightclub, to carry out a punishment he believed Islam demands for homosexuality.
But in light of the going media narrative, that Mateen specifically targeted a gay nightclub because of his hatred of homosexuality, it seems a rather significant omission on his part. It would also undermine a plot that the Left and the mainstream media want desperately to advance. If the Orlando massacre turns out to be just another terrorist attack by a radical Muslim who hates the West and loves ISIS, what use would it be as a domestic political weapon?

Nothing says homo love, than a mass shooting of the homos.

Supposedly, he was also looking at going after Disney World.

That said, given the IS mania on murdering homosexuals, and his pledge of allegiance, it wouldn't be that big a stretch for him to have targeted the club for that reason.

And, for the ex-wife to say he was homosexual, would be the ultimate way of getting back at him. Shaming him in front of his family, his mosque, all the Islamic crazy organizations he admired, in front of the entire world, and shaming his family.

Clearly, a lot of people want this to be something other than another Moslem mass killing.

After all, there's an election riding on this, as well as the fate of the Democrat Party.

A lot of unhinged people join ISIS and Islamic Radical Groups, closeted homosexuals in denial are a subset.

Mohammed Atta was probably gay too.

So why are legal gun owners and the NRA being blamed for this? Yet radical Islam gets a pass.

I was processing this w/ a cop friend of mine right after it happened. We both wondered why he picked a gay bar 2 hours from his home. Then we both read he frequented this bar over an extended period, not just recently casing the place. BINGO we both thought! A self loathing, Muslim, had to frequent a bar 2 hours from home, so no one knew. So his Muslim family and friends didn't know. As Evi pointed out, he apparently cased Disney World. But, going to this gay bar was a double whammy. He kills gays for Allah. And, he kills those fuckers who rejected him @ the bar. You KNOW he put off a fucked up vibe and many cruisers said, "No thanks" to him. He was bipolar and probably not medicated. Those fuckers put off horrible vibes.

How this is spun politically by the left doesn't matter. This is now the PERFECT example of how the Muslim religion is incompatible w/ Western culture. He had to kill gays on a suicide mission to atone to Allah.

I believe that Spinelli has nailed it in his analysis.

The media will continue to try to spin this and go back to the NRA/Gun Control mantra....anything but what it really is. Islam is the problem. People know this. They see this. And all the political correctness is no longer going to be able to hide it. Trump has made immigration one of the main planks in his program and terrorist actions like this will only reinforce that plank.

Even when I was not voting for Trump, during the primary, I said that PC was his key issue. PC has been foisted on us by a very small, elitist faction. And, while PC is part of the illegal alien[not undocumented worker..they have docs, they're just fake] and Muslim problem, it is not limited to those issues. There are potential Trump voters who are just as motivated by PC on campus, in public schools, creating a full assault of the 1st Amendment. I think the case needs to be made that much of this assault on the 1st Amendment is coming across the Atlantic from our supposed allies in Europe. They have blasphemy laws, something both Obama and Hillary support. It may be off the radar of some folks here whom illegal immigration is the overriding, hot button, issue. I'm NOT SAYING Trump should back off on illegal immigration so don't get your undies in a bunch. I am saying he needs to step up his game and expand, appealing to folks who are more concerned w/ the 1st Amendment ramifications of PC. Trump can get those folks if he makes the case.

Interesting point on the homosexual angle.

I'm wondering if he might have gone to places that far away because he was afraid any closer to home and people would remember him as an Islamic crazy.

The angle, of course, could still work, but try this for size - apparently the deal with Moslems is women are for babies but not for pleasure - it's the reason little girls are given clitoridectomies. It is OK supposedly to go to a man, if an infidel, for pleasure.

I know, very weird stuff, but, if you recall the early days of the GWOT in A-stan, our guys were weirded out by some of the locals trying to hook up with them (back before Pissy and Pelosi made the military all weird, all the time).

YMMV

This is just another attempt to deflect from the fact that Muslims are barbarians and savages. Next thing you know Obama is going to term it workplace violence and say it has nothing to do with the Muslim religion.

One of them knew what this guy was going to do. His Muslim supervisor who refused to listen to complaints. The other members of his mosque who heard him rant. His wife. They all had an idea and kept quiet. These are the moderate Muslims that Hillary and the media tells us we can't offend. That we have to work with. That are so important to keep us safe.

Bullshit.

Trump is telling the truth. He has been telling the truth since he first stared running. Not just about this. About Immigration. Trade Deals. The way our so called allies are ripping us off. The endless wars for nation building. The way people like Obama and Paul Ryan put everyone first before American citizens. Many mocked him. Called him a con man. A liar. A moron. He can't say that. It's not presidential. He needs to pivot. To tone it down. To be more like Mitt or Ryan or Jebbie.

Bullshit.

Full speed ahead. Tell the truth. Mock the naysayers. Smash the rice bowl of the Washington Post. Ban the New York Times next. Make them pay their own way. Make their own travel arrangements. They have a first amendment right to cover his campaign which is inviolate. They can do it from TV or pay for it themselves.

Pedal to the metal.

The wife has told the FBI she was with him when he bought ammunition and a holster. She also once drove him to the nightclub so he could case the place. The wife is sounding more and more like a co-conspirator.

She claims she tried to talk him out of it, but had no desire to call the Feds.

Bullshit.

She needs to be prosecuted as an accomplice after the fact.

In fact I hope a Trump Justice Department goes after a whole host of accomplices. I would prosecute CAIR under the RICCO statutes as an example. We need to put the full force of the government on the people who facilitate these terrorists.

I can see how targeting the gay club could have nothing to do with homophobia at all. The barbarian wanted a target where he could blend in unnoticed. What better place than a bar he's been frequenting anyway? Maximum infidel deaths is the goal, who cares what flavor they are?

Rabel said...

It could be that there was some psychological rejection of his alleged homosexuality involved in his selection of the gay club or it could be that he chose his target based on his familiarity with the layout and recognized the opportunity that layout (along with the 2:00 AM timing and his knowledge of the club's security) offered for a successful attack.

The killer spoke to the police several times and to the people he held in the bathroom and I have yet to see any quotes of statements he made during the attack referencing gays or a specific hatred of gays. Maybe I missed it, but I would think that "die faggots" or something similar would have been on the tip of his tongue along with the usual Islamic mutterings if aversion to homosexuality was his primary motivation.

RMPC narratives require no theories, they just are stated and repeated as fact because the low hanging fruit consumer of news doesn't know any different. You've heard every excuse in the book for what happened other than the actual reality of the situation. RMPC's live in a fucking up fantasy land.

I know you all realize this. But, it's good to visualize what the headlines would be if this were a hate filled fundamentalist Christian who did this. Religion, then guns would be the headline and half page headline, respectively. There would be numerous articles about the church the killer attended. You can all easily see these headlines, print and TV stories.

The left are still thinking they are in control. They are using the same playbook that worked just 5 or so years ago. Getting their asses kicked the last couple election cycles has not popped their pomposity balloon. They have lost both houses of Congress. They have a 32-18 advantage in governorship. The left don't realize the MSM, their ace in the hole, no longer controls the message. Instead of anger, I feel joy. I LOVE that their generals are still fighting the last war.

ed, Good job focusing on the present and future and not still ranting about the past primary. Trump won that. Some still don't seem to be able to accept victory. They love to beat dead horses. It's getting creepy.

ed, That's interesting. I didn't realize Trump was 70. It's not a big difference, but I would have guessed he was 67/68. 70 is the new 60.

They haven't been in control for a while. Ever since talk radio, people have an alternate source of info. Now that you have all manner of blogs and apps and cable channels and stuff for news, people don't have to listen to pompous jackasses like Wally Crankcase or Dan Blather. Once they lost control of information, they lost the ability to control opinion.

PS I think Trump looks pretty good for 70. A lot better than the Hildabeast for 68.

The other way ISIS has executed gay men is by hugging them and promising them a short-ride to paradise after their stoning.

Clearly there is something more actively pro-homosexual in these people's attitudes than they let on.

His homosexuality, his homophobia, and his religion all fed into and off each other, but it was his religion that made him pull the trigger. His wife was at least complicit and perhaps an accomplice. She was certainly more involved with the shooting than the NRA, but you'd never know it if you only listened to CNN or MSNBC........If we use the wrong kind of rhetoric in condemning this shooter, it will encourage other Muslims to become terrorists and yet they want more Muslim immigrants here who are potential mass murderers if exposed to the wrong kind of rhetoric. I don't know if that's a winning proposition for the Dems, but they did win the last two elections with less contradictory positions.

Methadras said...

I don't think he was a closeted self hating homosexual and even if he was, so what. When was the last time you say a closeted non-muslim homosexual decide to shoot up a gay bar and mass murder people. Zero I think.

I swear to god you would think that Obama, Hillary, Sanders and the left are the masters of Jiu Jitsu the way they will fucking pretzel themselves to pass the bullshit excuses they have made for who did the shooting and why.
