He was a great character actor. A very distinctive look and a physically impressive person along with Dan Blocker and John Schuck he was one of the best big guys around.
My view of Gwynn is forever tainted by the salacious details revealed by Pat Priest. It turns out that she kept a diary during The Munsters shoots (she played Marilyn). There used to be this guy's blog I followed that had all the juicy excerpts. Turns out, the only one worse than Gwynn was the creep that played Eddie Munster. And I heard that he grew up to became a Congressman from Wisconsin.

I have to say that the color pink is the worst color nature ever created. It's a horrid, putrid, repulsive color. Awful. Disgusting.
