I like the way Harry Morgan describes stirring the pot!

Some love one style and some another. Who are you to judge!

Is that the episode with the LSD cigarettes?

I think Harry Morgan smoked a couple of those in order to time travel back to the Korean war.

I've read the early black and white Dragnets were better than the color ones. Unfortunately
they are public domain and no one is going to restore them.

They are certainly different. You can watch them on Youtube.

In fact there are several great old black and white shows on Youtube these days. Naked City. East Side/West Side. Peter Gunn. Johnny Staccato. Dragnet.

I watch one almost every day. The cars. The clothes. The fedoras. The things they ate and drank. It is like going back in time. Really cool.

Yeah, that's all well and good, but none of those can hold a toothpick to Johnny Stecchino - now that is a movie!

I occasionally watch youtube shows but prefer the OTA retro stations. Naked city, Peter Gunn Mr Lucky, M Squad, Combat, even Mike Hammer were all broadcast.
Problem is they like to broadcast the older stuff in the wee hours making one of these a must. You can record to hard drive or dvd, or watch shows like you do on tivo without the fee, or even watch dvds. When I had cable tv I used a splitter to switch between cable and OTA. I found I was hardly watching cable and dumped it. We have a ton of digital stations, New York even has more.
