BTW, Schilling impresses me as a singularly thoughtful and well-spoken individual. Not exactly what you'd expect in the wide wide world sports.
Schilling was a GREAT pitcher. He is very intelligent and strident, but lacks wisdom. That shows in his losing his many millions of dollars in very bad investments and losing his job. Listen, I agree w/ what he said and usually agree w/ what he posts on Twitter or says. But, if you're a public person employed by a liberal company, it is not wise to say what he did. Courageous, yes. Wise, no. He's got a family to feed.
For those resigned to voting for Trump even though they don't want to I saw a hashtag/bumper sticker that said "Fuck it" on top followed by "TRUMP" below.

Not everybody is a great investor. It's a racket where inside knowledge helps ever so much.
As for wisdom, sometimes it's in the eye of the beholder. Speaking out wasn't safer, but making an issue of it?
It always makes things a lot more public when somebody famous is involved.
He's dead broke and just got fired from his job. I don't see how that comports w/ any definition of wisdom. I'll give him brave, not wise.
