"Woman in leading Flint water crisis lawsuit slain in twin killing"

"A woman at the center of a bellwether Flint water crisis lawsuit was one of two women who were shot to death inside a townhouse earlier this week."
Sasha Avonna Bell was one of the first of a growing number of people to file a lawsuit in connection to the Flint water crisis after she claimed that her child had been lead poisoned.
What an unfortunate coincidence.

Lead will take you out, no matter how it is administered.

Nothing like a little murder to bring the truth to light.

Bellweather - I see what they did there.

And "lead poisoned" - really? It's a real shame that democrats don't bother to learn English these days.

Lead poisoning will get you one way or another.

One of my favorite lines in the movies is in the Magnificent Seven when they ask Steve McQueen what they do and he says:

"We deal in lead friend."

Another oft-heard line is the reason someone had to leave his former location, "The climate was unhealthy. Too much lead in the air"

Bellweather

No, they got that one right. The bellwether is the lead sheep in a flock, the others follow the bell.

A wether is a castrated ram, like a steer among cattle.

Thanks, Ed, I know that - the woman who got rapid lead poisoning was named "Bell". Talk about a sheep being led to slaughter.

A bell weather is a church bell or a school bell or a town bell that starts swinging when then wind kicks up real hard and rings on its own announcing a storm in progress that cannot be withstood so take cover and hide and tuck in everything that is dear to you.

I prefer to call it Steel Rain.

This murder will likely not be solved. When police close the file on a murder it is called the clearance rate, (doesn’t mean a conviction in a court, just means the cops know who did it and the investigation is closed). Nation-wide the clearance rate is 64.1 percent, in flint it is 22.5 percent.
