Bird Set Free

Too bad. Cannot see it here.

The video is a segment of the television show "Ellen." I'm glad that I happened to catch this segment by accident because it is fascinating. The woman's voice is impressive. This video is better than the music file because the vocal tracks are not overlapped and the vocal more real.

It is a strange video. Woman singing standing spotlit in the corner of an empty room with disguised face and distracting headdress. A single window. The dancer wears the same unnatural wig. Near the end of the song the singer reveals herself coloratura by wailing the scale twice with such ease you hardly notice she hits each note perfectly with intensity and great emotion, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, and the dancer dives through the window.

Ellen hoots and leaps to the stage, turns out Sia is personal friend and as the segment winds down the dancer pokes his head up through the window to join Ellen and Sia in conversation on stage.

Then back from commercial sitting for interview we see Sia personality come through her disguise, her sweetness comes across even though only the lower portion of her face is natural and she's wearing an oversized bow on top of her wig disguising her face that doubles the whole mass. Sweet, very sweet, and even with all that not at all remote or weird.

When asked about her album she answers, "You know how you have little bits of this and that in your refrigerator that you know you could bring out and do something spectacular with because you know you're just such great chef." She sweetly dismissed her entire creative process as leftovers after having just blown us away.

Comments to the video joke about the dancer. They've seen this setup before, room, corner, window, in other videos. In previous videos the dancer is a young girl dressed similarly with similar wig. The girl turns out to be Maddie from Dancing Moms. Maddie is the girl dancer shown prancing around a room earlier at Lem's here

The joke were: What happened to Maddie? Puberty.

YouTube commenters follow all these people closely. They know who the male dance is. He has his own following. His own success on competition dance television. They know all the people in all of the videos.

Frankly, I think the girls do much better at dancing to the song. Even when they're dancing to another song. This is a video with audio swap. A fan likes this song with this dancer. It is the best of all.

SNL performance with female dancer, and bonus Trump intro.

Yet another male, also in his underwear, outside in Argentina with penguins. It says official video but it cannot be. He has a message at the end of it for viewers like myself fascinated with this song and with this singer and also fascinated with the fascination this song and Sia's act invokes in others. A very long message follows, longer than the video, about being yourself because there is only one you and everything is possible his being there one with the penguins in Argentina being one point in fact. All this delivered in his underwear with penguins out of doors in Argentina. He wants us to know his ass exercises are available at the link.

Comments to his video talk about how great the ass exercizes are, and from the lyrics, more jokes about how his ass sets them free.

The song resonates with birds setting themselves free.

Lem here... Sorry about the low volume today. My brother is trying to find me temp work via some connections he has. It involves long forms, background checks, soup to nuts. In other words, I'm very busy. Just letting you all know.

No problem Lem. Get your stuff first going first as priority. Good luck to you.

Also, I first heard Sia sing when she used to be a featured singer for the band Zero 7 and she was awesome. So I became a big fan. However, this whole 'hide the face' schtick is just that and it's sort of Lady Gaga light because of the outlandish ways and lengths she'll go to hide her face.

Thanks for the hint. I'll check out Zero 7 right now.
