Good Question: If the Rhino's can't beat Trump with the media unanimously on their side how are they going to beat Hillary with the media unanimously on her side?

Breibart News December 4, 2015 by John Nolte

After a coordinated DC Media attack that would have ground any other candidate into ash and dust, Donald Trump has not only held on to first place in the latest CNN national poll of GOP primary voters, he has surged +9 points to a massive +20 point lead. As of now, in a 12 person race, Trump sits at an astonishing 36%; his closest rival,
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)

jumped +12 points to 16% support.

Despite spending tens of millions of dollars on ads, Jeb Bush sunk -5 points to just 3% support.
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)

gained +4 points to earn 12%. Ben Carson lost -8 points and now sits at 14%.

Chris Christie, the man the DC Media has been hyping for two weeks, sits at just 4%. Last month he sat at just 4%. All that DC Media love didn’t bump the New Jersey governor up even 1 point.

On every crucial issue, Trump is surging and obliterates second place:
He holds massive margins over other Republicans as the candidate most trusted to handle the economy (at 55%, Trump stands 46 percentage points over his nearest competitor), the federal budget (51%, up 41 points), illegal immigration (48%, up 34 points), ISIS (46%, up 31 points) and foreign policy (30%, up 13 points). …
Among those Republican voters who call the economy extremely important, for example, 60% say they trust Trump to handle that issue. Among immigration voters, 55% trust Trump on the issue. On foreign policy, Trump inches up to 32%, and among those who call terrorism an extremely important issue, 49% say they trust Trump most on ISIS. …
More generally, about 4 in 10 Republicans say Trump is the candidate who would be most effective at solving the country’s problems (42% name Trump, 14% Carson, 12% Cruz, 10% Rubio) and could best handle the responsibilities of being commander-in-chief (37% Trump, 16% Cruz, 11% Carson and 10% Rubio).
On what might be the most important question in a presidential primary poll, a whopping 52%  of primary voters believe Trump has the best chance of beating Hillary Clinton. Rubio comes in second with just 15%.
In fact the only area where Trump loses is in former Obama voters, affirmative action hired law professors and semi-retired private investigators. Along with criminals and the mentally ill who are sure fire Democrat voters.
Important note: This poll was taken before the San Bernardino Islamic terror attack. When you look at how the news of the attack is unfolding and compare it to Trump’s tough stance on domestic security, you have to conclude his numbers will only improve.
Most of all, though, this poll reflects a massive failure in the DC Media’s waning ability to shape the national debate and define candidates.
My God, on nothing less than “Meet the Press,” the Mac Daddy of DC Media-ism, practically the entire show was dedicated to comparing Trump to a Nazi.
For weeks, the DC Media has thrown CrazyStupidRacist at Trump from a Gatling Gun of hate and frustration and fear like nothing we’ve seen in years. Not only has this attack failed, it appears to be backfiring.
The problem is two-fold: First off, the DC Media is bubble-dumb and completely out of touch with the average American. Secondly, as they become more and more frustrated by their inability to move public opinion on issues like gun control, Syrian refugees, and Trump, they become more and more insulated, defensive, and hysterically partisan. They retreat and talk only to themselves.
Like their baby ObamaCare, the DC Media is in a credibility death spiral.
Do not count them out, though. Over the coming year, they are only going to get nastier, more shrill, and more dishonest.
Back to the poll:
Trump leads with Independents with 35% support. Cruz is in 2nd with 18%.
Trump leads with women with 33% support. Cruz is in 2nd with 15%.

Among us non-college graduates (those the GOP Establishment see as “the rubes”), Trump earns an astonishing 46% support. Cruz comes in 2nd with just 12%. This disproportionate gap, when compared to other groups, makes me wonder if Trump isn’t expanding the Republican base with the Rustbelt working class.
For months I’ve argued that appealing to this group was and is a big part of The Donald’s strategy– to appeal to disaffected Reagan Democrats left behind by their Party’s wild shift to the far-left under Obama,  and angry at a Republican Establishment eager to import illegal immigrants who will steal what few working class jobs remain in this country.
America’s working class (my roots) feel left behind by both Parties. When Trump rips bad trade deals, promises to crack down on illegals, blasts a DC Media that despises working people, and blows apart one fascist politically-correct construct after another, that has always come off to me as part of a bigger strategy lost on a DC Media that is now so bubbled and smug and hypnotized by the sound of their own lies, they are blind to whatever is right in front of them.
Every time I worry about how undisciplined Trump appears, and how often he gets himself into trouble, one Big Question looms in the back of my mind…
If the Republican Establishment can’t beat Trump with the media on their side, how will they beat Hillary Clinton with the media on her side?

Yes, He's our douchebag. He's doing very well among REPUBLICANS.

I of course disparage this line of the reasoning, but since it's been used here a lot lately how this?

Romney won 93% of the Republican vote and how did that turn out?

Rush had some good analysis today about what is going on with Trump.

I've long thought that it made great sense to try an experienced businessman as President, but why did it have to be a douchebag?

Trooper York said...

Because most if not all businessmen are douchebags. At least the very successful ones.

Trump is just honest about it more than most.

Trooper York said...

Romney was a douchebag. A weak one. That is why he lost.

Trooper York said...

But bags. What about the question? If they can't be him down with universal contempt in all sides of the media then how do they expect to take down Hillary who is protected by the main stream media.

I think that it is still a long shot that Trump wins the nomination. But if the establishment trashes Trump and more importantly his voters then they are in for a rude awakening.

IIRC Romney in the primaries was always around 25%. That was good enough for the GOPe to proclaim he's our boy. He ran as the GOPe golden boy (Big government,Obamaromney-caregiver)
and lost. I could care less about the GOP, they don't represent my interests at all. They can dry up and blow away.
The only people represented, by both parties, are the inhabitants of D.C.,the Chamber of Commerce, Lobbyists,Goldman Sachs, and the governments of Mexico, China and Saudi Arabia.

Interesting to note the RNC is advising its Senatorial candidates next year to emulate The Donald.

If so, what does that make the independent retail merchant?

Just askin'.

No, it's becoming more and more clear it was the vote fraud.

Trooper York said...

Of course I am a douchebag ed. Just not enough of a douchebag to be as rich as those guys. In fact I would be a lot more successful if I were a complete douchebag. I would make my clothes in China instead of the US. I would exploit illegal immigrants instead of hiring American Citizens. Do all the things that made Romney and Trump rich.

Dust Bunny Queen said...

The GOPe keeps saying that Trump is not qualified to be President and they are determined to shove Jeb or Rubio or some other RINO clone down our throats. They are planning to manipulate the system....again.

First of all the decision on who is qualified to be President is not their decision. It is up to the voters to decide. Do the voters make some bad decisions....you bet. Just look at the eff up clown we have now in the White House.

Ask yourself, could Donald Trump POSSIBLY be any worse than Obumbler? Any worse? At least Trump is not actively trying to destroy the US and wants it to be richer and more successful. When the US does well, Trump as a business does well.

The GOPe has completely lost touch with what the base and the independents want. Trump is saying, what WE are thinking. He is laying out the priorities of the common voter and not the priorities of the GOP elites.

Trooper is right. Trash Trump and trash the voters at their own peril. I will NOT vote for Bush, Rubio....I would consider Cruz IF it came down to a fair race where the voters got to have their say and the Rovian creeps just butt the h3ll out.

Trooper York said...

I think there are a bunch of people like you and me DBQ. We are tired of the Republicans act. They control the House and the Senate and they don't do jack shit. It is time to blow it up.

Trump is the bomb.

So to speak.

The question posed is why I initially quietly supported Trump. By quiet, I mean I don't support him, but I don't disparage him either. I rather have Trump in office than Hillary or Sanders. But here's one more thing, as much as I think Jeb would be a better President than his brother and better than Trump; I rather not see him office. So, I'm quiet about Trump.

There are better options still running, but of them, I think Fiorina would have the easiest time against Hillary. She wouldn't have the media's support, but she negates the value of much of that support.

Leland said...

Hey Troop, I'm no fan of the Congressional GOP, but how about a hand for the effort last night. As the article says, some of it is symbolic, but they quietly took advantage of the latest events, while the Administration was out saying some stupid things.

If Trump wins the nomination, he will get a lot of blue collar Democrats to vote for him.

They like his message, and they don't trust Hillary.

bagoh20 said...

"But bags. What about the question? If they can't be him down with universal contempt in all sides of the media then how do they expect to take down Hillary who is protected by the main stream media.

Nobody is gonna take down Hillary. Everyone knows what she is, and everyone knows what Trump is. Nobody is gonna take him down either. They are both teflon within their own constituencies. It's not about who's gonna win the nomination - Trump can certainly win that, and it looks like he will. The question is what happens next. There seems to be a conflation of Trumps strength within his base as being a strength across all groups. It all turns on the independents and fence sitters. Fence sitters by definition are cautious. I don't feel confident about cautious people choosing Trump. It's that simple about winning the general.

Beyond that, I'm thinking that true conservatives, and definitely libertarians, will not be too happy with a Trump Presidency once we get it. I could be wrong, and I hope I am, because I do think he can win, but I think Rubio is a more sure thing against Hillary. I'm not all hung up on immigration - I live it more than anyone here, and I don't think a bunch of people will be deported no matter who wins, and there probably won't be a fence built either. The government can't even build a website, and Trump can't fix the reasons for that.

I would love to see a man with Trump's abilities and spine as President IF he liked small government. I don't think Trump likes anything small, especially if he's part of it.

bagoh20 said...

I guess it really comes down to what you care about most. Immigration, or the size of government. Getting government under control is way more important to me. If we got rid of every illegal tomorrow we would still have most of the problems I care about. If we shank government, nobody would care about immigration because the parasitic ones would leave on their own.

After all of this fighting I'm doing, I can see becoming a Trumpette myself eventually. It's up to him to show me he's not who I think he is.

Trooper York said...

You don't live immigration more than I do bags. Especially working in the garment industry.

But forget that. I went into Court Pastry. The Italian pastry shop I have been going to for fifty years. Generations off neighborhood girls got their first jobs there handing out cannoli's and lemon ices in the summer. I went to buy pastries and cookies for Thanksgiving. You know who was working there. Little Mexican girls. None of them over four feet tall or weighing more than 90 pounds. I asked the owner how come he didn't have any neighborhood girls working. He said the Mexicans were cheaper. Way cheaper.

You see he is great businessman. Owns five buildings worth more then 5 million in the neighborhood. Great business. Big time douchebag.

bagoh20 said...

Oh, and all businessmen are not douchebags. Some of us are just huge dicks, but I can see how that confusion would arise.

It's FRIDAY!!!!!!!

Listen I don't know if Trump can bring it home. He might just get tired of it and hand it off to Cruz. Cruz has been smart enough not to diss Trump or his supporters. If Trump campaigns for him he can bring a lot of his supporters with him. Because who is he going to try and swing his voters to? Bush? Rickey Ricardo? Carly with the laughing Face?

Cruz stands to profit the most from Trump's candidacy.

Leland I like what the Republicans did with that bill. Lets do it again. Every day. Keep pounding Obama and make him veto bills every day and twice on Sunday. That is what they should be doing from the minute they got elected.

Should we applaud them for doing what they ran on and what their voters expected?

Dust Bunny Queen said...

AllenS is correct as well.

There are a lot of blue collar dems and what used to be called the Democrat Blue Dogs...people like Zell Miller who are indicating that they like Trump.

My husband has breakfast twice a week with some buddies at the local coffee shop. They shoot the breeze, solve the world's problems before going off to work. Many of the guys who show up there are not on the same page politically as we are (us being fiscal conservatives, libertarian and social issues are a big meh! when it comes to voting.). However, lately, even the most liberal, global warming worshiper at the breakfast club has expressed that they like The Donald.

Illegal immigration, terrorism, crap economy, fake unemployement stats etc are the main issues.

This is why Cruz and Trump are leading in the polls. The issues that affect us personally and are those things that are representative of the most danger are those that Trump and Cruz are espousing.

We are literally in a wartime mindset and a very depressed economy and people are looking to leaders with strength and the ability to speak plainly. Jeb and Rubio and the rest of those clowns are just doing the same old same old kabuki dance of telling us what they think we want to hear and then plan to ignore us and go back on all of their promises.

So...even if Trump doesn't speak the politically correct speak or do the pre arranged dance, this is a bonus and a plus. We are sick of the rest of these A-holes and need to have a REAL change. Jeb isn't it. Rubio isn't it. Christy (while really entertaining) isn't it either. I like Fiorina, just not in the lead position.

If the GOPe ever expects to win again....ever.....they need to back off and let the voters be the deciders and stop with all the schemes to take out Trump. If Trump fails on his own...so be it. Otherwise...back the eff off.

You might justify that with The Donald - there are accusations (of course, he probably treated any immigrants who worked for him better than they'd known in their lives), but Bain Capital financed companies that were good risks, made investments, that's all.

You may not like Romney because of his privileged background, but you're probably on firmer ground going after Gates or Zuckerberg.

Agreed, but it's going to take somebody who can take down the media and the Democrats. So far, that's The Donald, maybe Cruz.

Scott Walker's shown it can be done.

Interesting it comes now. Those who wanted their symbolic vote got it, but why this could not have happened earlier is the real issue.

Clearly the Choom Gang is collapsing of its own incompetence and any hopes of any of the Whigs getting the nomination is just about gone.

Maybe the blackmail threat no longer works because there are too many Democrat bodies that could be exhumed. Maybe the devil's bargain to kill the Tea Party is null and void.

@ Edutcher

This why did it take so long is also one of the things that is sticking in the craw of the Republican voters.

We elected them based on their promises to undo much of Obama's agenda and to fight for us. They promised and YET, when they get into Congress, we get the song and dance that "Well, if we pass this law to repeal Obamacare/push the Keystone Pipeline through/curb the EPA etc etc etc etc....Obama will veto it and we probably won't have the votes to override it.....so therefore we will do NOTHING."

Who CARES if he vetoes it. Who CARES if you can't get an override. We sent you there to pass these laws. Keep passing the laws and force the vetoes. Let the giant dork veto every single law that you send through and it will show everyone who is doing their job, who is not doing their job.....and more importantly who is just freaking lying to us. Keep sending the laws as you promised.

We sent you there to represent us. Do your G-damned job!!!! And guess what....You're FIRED!

Now it is too little too late. We are tired of being lied to and treated like chumps.

Trooper York said...

We want him to veto every law that they pass. Every day. Put it out there. Also put everyone on the record. If the squishy Republicans want to go along with the liberal bullshit make them vote for it. Don't protect them by not bringing it to a vote. Make a record. Make a statement. Make Obama veto it. Now.

G Joubert said...

I say it'll all shake out when real voters start going to the polls and start casting real votes. That's where the Trump haters who think he's a douchebag can go to do their little share to oppose him. In the meantime, I say we should encourage as many of the candidates as possible to stay in the race until then, maximizing our choices, and we get to see the real douchebags along the way.

bagoh20 said...

I'm with you guys on all that stuff. I don't see what it has to do with Trump at this point. He would have signed Obamacare, and any Republican would OK Keystone.

The thing is will the Rhino's support the ticket if Trump or Cruz is the nominee. POS William Kristol and POS George Will have already indicated that they would not vote for Trump. They will demand a loyalty oath from Trump but will refuse on in return. Over and over again we have seen the Royalist Rhino faction sabotage conservative nominees to get one of their go along to get along crony capitalist lap dogs. Now Trump is not a conservative. He is a populist. That is why he is getting support from places that DBQ is reporting on. He has a bigger reach than most of the others. He has a big downside but I think he has an even bigger upside.

This is what Reagan had in '80.

The Whigs then were dragged kicking and screaming into the nomination, but he had the votes. This is The Donald's advantage - those Reagan Democrats

Seems to me if the Whigs want to stay separate from the Demos (the Demos probably have replacements in such an event) a double cross as we saw in '10 would be asking for a schism that would cost them dearly.

And, on a realted note,

I still welcome an immediate end to illegal immigration, anchor babies, and benefits for illegals.

Not really. That went out with Pearl Harbor, or at least I Like Ike. Your average Republican is a small businessman. The Rs have been the party of Main Street at least since the 50s and the Demos are now the party of Wall Street and have been for at least 25 years. For 40 years or so (since Nixon), large swathes of blue collar America has been Republican.

Astounding how the old New Deal stereotypes persist.
