Hard Choices

In a stunt intended to impose her word upon candidates uninterested in having it and for the glee her campaign and her supporters derive from it, Hillary Clinton's campaign mailed a copy of her book to Republican candidates. Then what? Gauge for reaction. Smirk. Presume she's the only candidate having written a book? What? Please explain motivation, make it sincere if possible, if anything other than unserious stunt by unserious people.

Last week the folks I follow were offended by this. They're all serious people. They wondered collectively if Hillay had read her own book. Because they did read the book. They actually do bother. That's how twisted they are, how politically bent. Reading for damaging entries, no doubt, maybe skimming for conflicting published statements. They point out the book she is passing around has her supporting the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement that she is presently campaigning against. Two Hillarys in one. Campaigning on sending her book to Republican foes to put them some knowledge of her support for TPP while simultaneously campaigning against TPP.

Darleen posts at Protein Wisdom without comment this video by Ben Carson campaign, happy recipient of such a book. (Too typically and annoyingly liberal: you simply must read this book in order to be properly informed as I, but usually by people smarter than themselves, they don't often write them.) The Carson campaign made the video below rather than return the favor. Apparently Carson campaign knows none of the Clinton campaign will ever bother to read A More Perfect Union, Gifted Hands, America the Beautiful, Think Big, One Vote, Take the Risk, or The Big Picture so no point in sending. Or maybe this is Hillary's way of saying, "Hey you guys I wrote a book too."

I almost forgot, while watching the Carson Campaign having fun, and interesting too seeing what it looks like, I was thinking the whole time, "Is that all you guys got?" They never left the office.

lol have you considered working for the campaign of you choice?

I would guess she was trying to be humorous by sending the books?

I read a review of the book when it came out. IIRC the reviewer said it was safe and pretty staid. More like here are my policies, etc., not a rehash of her struggles, etc. Let's see, who was that? A neocon female. First name begins with M? Headed a think tank...I'll see if I can find it.

Anderson is working those glasses. So is Webb. Damn. Hillary...wise choice in the skinny pants.

Chaffee, thanks, but NEXT.

Webb, Hottie McHottykins. He wears his fallen son's combat boots. Or at least he used to. OMG five daughters. My marine dad had three.

O'Malley, tentative, lite, apparently sincere.

Sanders, omg climate change, okay on black incarceration.

Clinton, hee hee hee, no favoritism between boys and girls. Climate change blah blah, noises toward middle class, flex pay, she is ON so far.

Hillay: good back-tracking on PTT.

Bernie Sanders, defining Dem Socialim (Walter Kronkite was one.) Hmmm a bit disjointed.
p
Anderson: you supported the Sandinistas.

Sanders: well said about Wall Street greed.

Hillary: reign in the excesses of capitalism.

Sanders: ...

Chafee: The party left me.

Webb: Called on state-sponsored affirmative action(?) Contrasts trouble white cultures, e.g. Appalacia.

Sanders: shielding gun manufacturers? Banned assault weapons. Says people need mental health help to avoid these tragedies.

Hillary: We lose 90 people/day due to gun violence. Says Sanders wanted to give immunity to gun manufacturers.

Sanders: Need to strengthen background checks.

O'Malley: Says 'they've' passed comprehensive gun legislation. Hillary nods agreement to his speech.

Sanders: Common sense in gun control needed.

Webb: Who should be kept from having guns...incompetent and gang members.

O'Malley: Nice voice. Sincere, lethargic. Speaks of saving lives in Baltimore.

(may be out of sequence)

Webb is her biggest competitor. Bye-bye Sanders, O'Malley, Chafee.

You will never get any argument from me on how corrupt Hillary is.

My only question is whether she's corrupt enough to compete against corrupt Republicans.

And I think she can. Why? Because Republican corruption is narrower. They're only allowed a certain amount of moral independence on stock issues by their donor-owners.

But like Trump, Hillary has a little more independence, financially as well as politically. So she can afford to be all over both sides of every map.

Do you really think that Hillary's opportunism should be held against her? I don't think you do. I think you're jealous that she can be more opportunistic than a typical Republican.

Call it, freedom from political integrity.

Come on. You wish your action figures could be THAT flexible! It's an incredible advantage. You know you do!

Your moral repugnance is showing, Balls.

No way I'd support any candidate who behaved as if the law didn't matter.

Shorter Balls: She's corrupt, but Balls will support her anyway.

"Not raised at the debate: how does a couple who spent their entire lives in "public service" become worth $230 million? This is the critical question to be asked since it underlines Hillary Clinton's venality and corruption."

there's only ONE candidate who is corrupt, Balls.

I may not like Bernies socialism, but at least I can admit that he isn't corrupt.
