"And then they came for the giraffes"

"American huntress sparks fury by posting selfie with dead giraffe in South Africa"
An American huntress has sparked fury on social media after posting pictures of herself with the corpses of a giraffe, warthog, kudu and impala during a trip to South Africa.

Sabrina Corgatelli, who is believed to come from Boise, Idaho, counted down the days on her Facebook profile to the “trip of a lifetime” to a private conservancy 20 kilometres from the country’s iconic Kruger National Park.

Before her trip, she posted a meme of Leonardo DiCaprio on her wall accompanied by the message: “To all the haters. Stay tuned, you’re gonna have so much more to be p***** off about.” (read more)

Internet fury sure gets sparked easily these days. I guess we all could use more meaningful real lives huh?

Following up on one of Lem's earlier posts, there's been another non-human murder and decapitation. Not sure if they skinned him.
So terribly sad.

Issuing a challenge to the loons on the internet might not be the best idea!

Better to just to about your biz.

You need a big pot if you're gonna cook that neck down for your giblet gravy.

"Neck roast"

"Not again!"

You're gonna need a taller house for the trophy.

I can understand the primal urge to kill lions and tigers and bears. Killing scary creatures is one way of feigning mastery of your fears and marking your claim as the top predator.. I can also understand killing antelopes and cows. Eating steak is one way of overcoming one's primal fear of starvation. I just don't understand killing giraffes. They're not scary and they don't look like they would taste good. This is killing for the sake of killing. That's one of those things that human beings like to pretend that they've evolved beyond.

A giraffe? Very lame. Giraffes can't hide, they can't duck, or shuck and jive. It's pathetic to hunt them with a gun.

A much more sympathetic animal than the lion. but I think Chickie is right: no outrage for the woman. She's not mean, selfish or lacking compassion. She's "fierce", or some shit.

Harpies and nags and scolds, OH MY.
I bet they're thrilled to yell at this woman, especially the male ones.

Also, this particular theme might be developing now because it's a way to criticize Trump. Apparently, his sons are into big game hunting. I'm not a fan of Donald Trump or big game hunting BUT big game hunting has been going on for EVER and this recent media blitz about it is rather odd. Hmm, the topic of today's Two Minutes of Hate is unexpected. WHY? Where SJWs and the media are concerned, one must always ask why. (Don't ask THEM. They'll just lie to you. Look around for likely targets and answer the question yourself.)

I have to agree about the lameness of hunting giraffe. While I don't completely agree with William (maybe giraffe is tasty, you can't assume such things), giraffes are not typically hunted for their flesh, so they probably don't fear humans even if hiding was easy to do. I suspect hunting giraffe is about as difficult as hunting a dog or a cow. The more difficult aspect would be for an American to travel to where the giraffe naturally lives. A giraffe is like a participation trophy rather than a merit trophy.

Apparently, giraffe is tasty. Bostonians claimed giraffe meat has a "melt-in-your-mouth" quality to it. Personally, I've been surprised by buffalo and ostrich, but I can skip giraffe. In one of the links, they mention gator, and I can attest that it is enjoyable.

Apparently the locals in the area are going to get giraffe burgers from this.

Any parent who ever had to take a screaming kid to Toys R Us is perfectly fine with whacking a freaking giraffe.

She shot it because giraffs are lousy bridge partners.

No outrage either for the South African truck driver because--well, he's probably black.
