"Mexican drug lord Joaquin 'El Chapo' Guzman escapes"

"Guards at the Altiplano Federal Prison discovered during a routine check on Saturday that Guzman, known as "El Chapo," was missing, a statement from the commission said."
Guzman escaped through a hole in his cell that led to a tunnel nearly a mile long, Mexico National Security spokesman Monte Alejandro Rubido GarcĂa confirmed Sunday morning at a press conference in Mexico City. The hole led to a tunnel that was lighted and ventilated, the spokesman said.

Guzman is the storied boss of one of the world's most powerful and deadly drug trafficking operations.

He escaped in 2001 from a high-security prison in a laundry cart and was not apprehended again until 2014, when he was arrested at a Mexican beach resort.

That was super humanitarian of Mexico to provide a ventilated and lighted tunnel. I wonder if he is trying to make his way north to the US border and safety in a sanctuary city.

I know we aren't supposed to take Trump seriously... but things happening "on the ground" are favoring him.

After all the frustrations with the republicans, even more so after they won the midterms, I don't blame people for gravitating towards Trump.

Jonah Goldberg says they need an intervention.

May I suggest shooting him next time?

This is why Mexico never gets anywhere (and, of course, why the Lefties want it here) and why the Mexican people are forming vigilante groups (a good Mexican word if there ever was one) to fight the cartels.

Trump doesn't speak with carefully crafted PC bullcrap. Illegals are pouring across the border and the GOP and the dems are falling all over themselves with welcoming gifts.

I worry that Trump is to blinded to his ego. He could ruin it for the GOP an hand it over the Hillary. He has spoken well of her in the past, given money to the slush fund, hobb-nobbed at all the rich and powerful wealth-weddings and glad-handed each other.

Only recently has Trump come out and said that Hillary was a horrid Sec of State. I hope the GOP wakes up and recognizes that illegal border crossing is ILLEGAL.

Mexico has become what Colombia was in the 70's-90's. This guy "escaped" just like Pablo Escobar "escaped" from his homemade prison. The brave people of Colombia said ENOUGH and took back their country. Mexican criminals saw an opportunity. With the demise of the US Mafia and Colombian cartels, Mexicans jumped in and filled the vacuum. But, unlike Colombia, I see few if any politicians, journalists, attorneys, willing to step up and fight like what happened in Colombia.

I'm watching a 57 episode (that's right, 57 episode!) soap opera about the Medellin Cartel at the height of it's glory , "El Cartel." It's on Netflix. I'm on episode 3!

In the very first episode, the story line is that a rival cartel tracked down and killed Pablo Escobar. The government forces arrive after the assassination and take credit. Interesting theory.

Prison is pretty posh for the narcotraficantes in the soap opera,

Thanks for the Jonah G link, Lem.

Every Trump fan should read it.

Trump on Immigration: You seem to think he’s an immigration hardliner, and he’s certainly pretending to be. But why can’t you see through it? He condemned Mitt Romney as an immigration hardliner in 2012 and favored comprehensive immigration reform. He told Bill O’Reilly he was in favor of a “path to citizenship” for 30 million illegal immigrants: Trump: You have to give them a path. You have 20 million, 30 million, nobody knows what it is. It used to be 11 million. Now, today I hear it’s 11, but I don’t think it’s 11. I actually heard you probably have 30 million. You have to give them a path, and you have to make it possible for them to succeed. You have to do that.

More and more I think he's in it to hand it to queen quid pro quo corruptcrat. she'll really grease his skids.

I think the problem with NR is it isn't the NR of Buckley, they threw in the towel on same sex marriage years ago. And seems to be the NR of Jeb.

Yeah, everybody knows it's a vanity thing with The Donald and he's been all over the map in his various candidacies.

And nobody takes him seriously.

Question is, who's scaring the Demos and getting the numbers?

Not Jeb, not Rubio.

The guys rocking the boat - Cruz, Fiorina, The Donald, Warren - are getting it done.

Whatever his motivation, Trump is getting the ball rolling on the whole illegal scam and why it needs to be shut down. Attention getter? After the Steinle murder, you bet. Prompted her brother to send him a tweet thanking him for making his sister's murder a national issue.

Would I want him as Pres? Kinda doubt it, but right now he's got people listening and motivated on an issue the Lefties have owned.

Pragmatist that I sometimes am, that's good enough for the moment
