"Jindal aide accuses liberals of 'race-baiting' on portrait"

"Bobby Jindal’s chief of staff is accusing liberals of “race-baiting” after a photograph spread on social media was falsely assumed to be the Louisiana governor’s official portrait."
Louisiana political blogger Lamar White tweeted out a photo of a painting on Tuesday with the caption “This is Bobby Jindal’s official portrait,” showing a pale version of the first Indian-American governor of a U.S. state.

Jindal’s chief of staff, Kyle Plotkin, was quick to respond by tweeting a photo of a different painting of the Louisiana governor at White.

“That’s not the official portrait. Constituent loaned it. This 1’s official. Thx 4 ur race-baiting tweet,” Plotkin tweeted.

Seems to me a governor's Chief of Staff should have more important things to do.

I must be wrong about that.

Ug, both paintings suck...are there no artists in Louisiana who can actually render an accurate human face and form? These both look some of the crap I tried before I figured out that while I understood anatomy, I could not render it worth spit. It's called no talent for it. I guess in Louisiana it's called, uh, what....? Somebody got paid money for that crud...dang! I should apply for the job!

Here's a hint dipwad artists, try projecting a photographic image on your canvas and work hard to get the details right....you might still suck, just not a much.

Both paintings do suck. And why do we need paintings anymore anyway. A digital photograph blown up to proportion would be a more accurate image, no matter whatever warts might appear. But then again, it wouldn't employ some impoverished artist.

I'm done with anyone who mentions race in respect to anything anymore. I'm ready to gauge my eyes out to be truly colorblind.

gouge, not gauge. Ugh.

You do not need to be color blind, or ethnicity blind. All you need to do is realize that each difference makes a difference, be positive, and you should try to find out the details of it. Life is so much more vibrant when you see difference as opportunity. It just might save your life someday.

EMD...otherwise, I agree with you. No need to gouge out your eyes, just saying...

Paintings still matter because an oil painting will keep its integrity for centuries. Pictures and the pigments in pictures (and the paper they're printed on) disintegrate in mere decades. Which is why art photographs tend to be black and white rather than color.

I do think, though, that painting a good portrait is a lost art.

I guess they are hanging around that office so the dumb pubes will think he is really white?

He changed his name, his religion and now his race.

Like he will ever win the presidency. Sad. Even the republicans in one of the states ranked last in every category hate him Hello, he is behind Carly Fiona in rankings.

Scott Walker, who has a record, is so much better.

"I hate the sound of your mother's voice so much it makes me want to tear off my ears and sew them over my eyes so I never have to look at her again."

Raj's Dad, as told by Raj, from last night's rerun of The Big Bang Theory

Even funnier with the accent.

MSNBC said Jindahl should "rub some brown off" and someone followed their direction in paint. Now they're angry? Another oh-so-proud moment for the race-baiting left.
