KLEM FM

For all the separatists and their elk:

Der Sommeschlacht is a great word.

Added: a 1991 track from the band Kurt Cobain called "the best band in the world" -- Scotland's Teenage Fanclub:

I might as well trade in my Scottish pounds - they are remaining Brits. I guess all the Scots with gumption moved over here.

More's the pity.

They scotched the separation?

My lonely Scotland tweet didn't pick up anything...

I thought that wasn't too bad.

I see what you did there,

Glenfiddich is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky owned and produced by William Grant & Sons in Dufftown, Scotland. Glenfiddich means ‘Valley of the Deer' in Scottish Gaelic, hence the presence of a stag symbol on Glenfiddich bottles...

Around here they want $85 for a bottle of Lagavulin.

Scotland the Brave, indeed.

To anybody who grew up eating scrapple, the first taste of haggis is an underwhelming experience.

Don't believe the hype.

I vacationed in Scotland. On Loch Fyne.

It took 40 minutes to drive a car to a restaurant we could have rowed a boat to in 5 or 10.

If anyone invents a working transporter beam, it'll be a Scot.

You can buy a scotch pretty much anywhere they serve food.

Breakfast, even.

Not that I had the courage.

Best Indian curry I ever had was in Scotland.

Go figure.

Sheep are pretty much everywhere.

I was careful not to mention the novelty of it to the locals, not knowing whether the Highland Clearances might still be a touchy subject to some.

Didn't see any pickup trucks displaying the Confederate Battle Flag, though.

When you tour the castles, which are more like big old houses made of stone, they always have a little snack shop.

On the counter is always a layer cake on one of those cake platters with the pedestal and the glass dome.

Always.

Yeah, the local dialects are a bit of a challenge, at first.

Road signs are indecipherable.

You were on the distillery tour, eh laddie?

Went to a bottle shop for something to bring back to the States.

I blanched at what they wanted for a bottle of Springbank.

My brother-in-law says to me, "Come on, when will you ever again have a 21 year old?"

Sold.

I like my brother-in-law.
