WLEM AM

Where we can blow off some steam.

This beautiful video (h/t rh) reminds me of judith2you, a blog by woman named Judith who searched through art and literature for instances of the name Judith. A recurring theme is the apocryphal Judith, "a daring and beautiful widow, who is upset with her Jewish countrymen for not trusting God to deliver them from their foreign conquerors. She goes with her loyal maid to the camp of the enemy general, Holofernes, with whom she slowly ingratiates herself, promising him information on the Israelites. Gaining his trust, she is allowed access to his tent one night as he lies in a drunken stupor. She decapitates him, then takes his head back to her fearful countrymen. The Assyrians, having lost their leader, disperse, and Israel is saved. Though she is courted by many, Judith remains unmarried for the rest of her life." -Wiki

I once got head from a Jewish woman named Judith, and her teeth got in the way, and now it all kind of makes sense.

I remember the feminuts tried to appropriate Judith as a rape icon or something.

About the closest they got to Judaism.

PS Wasn't she also a Judge of Israel?

(like someone (we all know and love)'s namesake?)

My understanding is that the religion was named after her.

And as Homer said "Who made you Judge Judy and executioner?"

There is a Homer quote for everything.

Is it true that Althouse and Meade asked Lem to shut down Lem's because they were getting so much flak from trolls(?)

Have you ever misjudged someone so badly that when you see them they don't match their voice?

My new landlord sounded soooooo different on the phone. In person he was Cuban and talkative. A nice guy, but I think I get on his nerves a little.

Wait! If you splooge in a hippo pool can you get in the family way?

I saw at Ace that Escobar's hippos are going wild in Columbia. Which seems pretty wild.

I don't think that is connected with the decline in Madison.
