‘Knockout Game’ Claims Another Victim

There's another version of the game, in which a bunch kids get together, randomly pair off and start seeing if they can knock each other out. Happens on the street in front of my house regularly. A bunch of young brothers were doing it directly in front of my house yesterday after school. On of them landed a good shot, blasting another guy but good. The one that got hit was probably out cold before his head bounced off the pavement. He lay there out cold for several minutes, in the middle of the road, with his friends standing around laughing at him before he came to.
Now here's something to think about. How many of the idiots doing this are going to get CTE and get both dumber and more violent over time? How many are going to end up in prison because they're stupid and violent?

And no, I didn't call 911 because I don't want to become a target. Let the little thugs beat the shit out each other. Besides, they were taking pics with their cell phones, so they could have called if they'd had any concern for his health BESIDES giving him brain damage. And besides, I called 911 about some adults beating the living fuck out of each other, was promised that the next available car would respond, and I'm still waiting. That was about ten days before Christmas last.

I was talking about the ones in Icepick's scenario beating each other up. If they are beating on each other, why stop them? Maybe they will kill each other. Personally, I think everyone should be armed and never walk alone. That way one of you will be able to shoot the subhumans who are playing this "game". It is a war zone out there people. Act like it and take it seriously.
Also personally, yet another reason that I do not go to the big cities any more unless I absolutely have to.
This doesn't mean that we don't have dysfunctional people out here in the boon-tullies. Last night we were visiting with some friends who were talking about the situation in their neighbor's property down the road. The old man died and all of his dirt bag relatives have moved in from a place well known as a haven for dopers, alcoholics, welfare slugs and criminals. They can hear the people at night who after being doped and liquored up spill out of the house and start yelling at each other. One woman, in her high screechy voice, yelled....
"I'm going to shoot you and then I'm going to jail". WIN WIN!!! Our friends wanted to offer her a gun just in case she was bluffing. We are supporting these people with our tax dollars, why not help her out a little more....hmmmmm?
Sigh. Wadda gonna do? Burn down the house? Nah. They'll probably do that themselves. Actually, what they are going to do is call the public health people on them since the old man never finished repairing his septic tank and leach field before he died and they are basically shitting into a ditch. We are hoping for a foreclosure. Then they can go be section 8 blights on another community.
Can't wait until a few of them run into the next Bernhard Goetz.
Then the Lefty media will notice.
Mind you, the kids doing this are friends with each other. They're doing this for kicks, and to see who's toughest.
Actually, I should be a bit fair to the local Sheriff's office. They do break these things up when they find them. But from what I've heard, the big scrums are almost daily just off the campus of the local high school, and they're often busy there.
This started up last April or May in a regular way. The kids would gather in groups of several dozen up the street and start going at it. When the cops would show up they'd scatter, at first. Into the fall, the kids got defiant and did NOT run at the site of the police.
Eventually the Sheriff deputies started showing up in force and would break things up. Now you don't see gatherings that big unless they're right off campus from the local middle school (three blocks over from me) just before or just after school.
Now the kids have wised up and usually don't gather in groups much larger than 12 or 15. That way there are too many groups around for the cops to chase off, I guess. We'll see how or if the cops respond.
ed, no one wants to get Zimmermaned. The best thing to do is exercise situational awareness, watch what's going on around you with care, and chose your routes and actions accordingly. In other words, don't be careless, and don't be a knucklehead. (Zimmerman did both, but it is now finally becoming clear to everyone that Zimmerman is a careless knucklehead, which I was ahead of the curve on for those that thought he should have been found not guilty.)
This is certainly going on. I've seen it, not just on the media, but up close.
That said, I don't want to get dragged into the politics of martyrdom and body counts.
Could if I wanted to, but it's no way to live.

"Crazy people." That's cute. They're actually young blacks expressing their legitimate rage. Just ask Schmendrik. Ask ARM. Ask phx. They'll explain it all to you.
