Tommy James was just 16 and still in high school when he recorded his first hit song "Hanky Panky" fifty years ago last month. The song languished for 2 years but became a dance hit in 1966.

"Crimson and Clover" is my favorite Tommy James song and I think Joan Jett did a great cover of it. link. I know she bats for other team but the way she widens her eyes at the 1 min 25 sec while singing "I wanna do ever-ree-thing" is Eve-level eroticism.

I had a friend who had a jacked up 1967 GTO. He had an 8 track tape and would just play Hanky Panky over and over again.

@Nick, some songs were just made for 8-tracks along with gas, tires & oil and bench seats. That's one of them.

And $2 worth of gas would fuel that powerful 8 cylinder all night.

That missing plane story keeps changing.

We look at that situation, well removed and within our comfort zone of belief that our institutions could never be that incompetent.

Physical evidence doesn't just disappear -- not without an explanation.

Lots of new pictures in commenter Fr Martin Fox's blog. Aachen, Cologne, a bunch of other German cathedral cities, and Dachau.

Charlemagne's casket looks like something out of an Indiana Jones movie.

"facebook has just been evacuated. All employees were put on to buses."

Does anybody know what's going on there?

Bomb threat?

"Bomb scare @ Facebook HQ in NorCal was false alarm. Tell your aunt she can come out from under the table & resume posting cat videos."
