DC Insurance Commissioner Fired 24 Hours After Questioning ObamaCare Fix

The borg does not tolerate dissent!
White was one of the first insurance commissioners in the nation last week to push back against Obama’s attempt to smooth over part of the botched rollout of the Affordable Care Act: millions of unexpected cancellations of insurance plans.
Bad push back you!
White was called into a meeting Friday afternoon with one of Mayor Vincent C. Gray’s (D) top deputies and told that the mayor “wants to go in a different direction,” White told The Washington Post on Saturday.
No job you!

The story from the Washington Post

Now, that's surprising!

Don't get in the way of those idealists! They're just trying to help.

We're going to see a lot more of this as CYA goes from outbreak to pandemic.

Should I be concerned about my comments here? I don't have time for an audit right now. I'm busy trying to maximize my tax bill, just like most days.

And not a goddamn one of them looks like Jeri Ryan, what with those built in photon torpedoes & all!

I just watched the last few minutes of "Valkyrie" The 2008 Tom Cruise movie about the attempted assassination of Hitler. Spoiler: They miss. But I was struck by the fact that all these brave men are executed just 9 months before Hitler commits suicide. Everybody knew Hitler was nuts, wrong, a disaster, and doomed; and yet they stood up the few men who were true to their country and shot them dead for trying to save them.

It makes you wonder what is the best course at times like these: stand up and be a martyr, or just wait for the inevitable while knowing that much more damage will be done before the fall. I say if the price is execution you have a right to be indecisive, but getting fired is well worth it.

Well, at least he wasn't found dead on a park bench. Yet.

His name was White. The Chocolate Syndicate can't tolerate that at all.

I listened to a lecture series on Hitler not too long ago. I've retained very little of it, which for me is pretty much par for the course.

Out of WWI, Hitler was rewarded for his good service by being assigned to spy on some nutty political party's meetings and he found himself in sympathy with their views. He rose from obscurity because back in those days a rousing political speech was considered the topper to a nights entertainment and he was a natural.

Hitler was an awful executive, apparently, and the running joke among his staff was that he'd end up going with whatever alternative they offered him last.

That's about all I remember.

I borrowed the lectures from the public library and listened to them on my way to and from work so I got more out of it than I put into it.

That's something, at least.

Almost everyone named white is black. I knew one family named white that wasn't, but they are few and far between.

Is that why he/they called it The FInal Solution?
