The Harpoon*

The Harpoon has become a favorite cocktail around our house. Of course we modified it, substituting gin for vodka:

(double this for two)

1½ oz gin
½ oz orange liqueur
¼ oz lime juice
enough cranberry juice to color

Mix and shake over ice.  Pour into chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a slice of lime.

The Harpoon is related to the Maggie, but less limey. Also, the Maggie looks different, lacking the socialist red hue.

Pasta is stuck in the bowels of ObamaCare.

At least that's my recollection of his last post.

I love Classic Comics. I think I had every one of them. They were great stuff.

What kids today are missing.

This made me think of Pasta, too. He gave good snark.

Talking about harpoons: I loved this audio version of the classic. Some of the readers did a fabulous job.

I like old fashioned reading (and I am with Troop it is not the best way to access this stuff the first time), but sometimes audio books are fun (especially when you are driving).

At the wedding I had at my house last Saturday we had a full bar, and a popular drink was Casuelas, which were served in large bowls with multiple straws to be consumed in a team effort. Very tasty, deceptively powerful and popular.

Per person:
1 1/2 parts Tequila
1 slice of lime
1 slice of lemon
1 slice of orange
1 slice of grapefruit
Grapefruit flavor soda (Squirt or Fresca)

Muddle the fruit, add the tequila and shake with ice.
Top with grapefruit flavor soda. Serve over the rocks.

So it's basically a cosmo with lime juice? How strong of a "color" are you going for, here?
