9/11/2001

Twelve years ago today 2,977 people were killed by Muslim Terrorists. There are no words to fully communicate the breadth and depth of all we lost that day.

Today I will simply remember the victims and pray for their families and our nation.

The New York Times "Portraits of Grief" series captured a little something of each person who was lost that day.

Joe Connor, New Jersey Tea Party Coalition Board member, remembers his cousin Steve Schlag, who was also among the victims that day.

I celebrate a mosque at Ground Zero, a surrender monkey in the White House and the end of western civilization. Death to America, Death to Isreal and sharia for all.

I especially celebrate all the eggheads and educators who destroyed this nation from within - well done, you traitorous bastards - glad I won't be around to live in the hell you have created.

Now go spend another trillion dollars you have borrowed from the Chicoms and relish the diversity of having retards running the show.

I'm home for a couple of days.

Been riding the prairie states, stopping at every Veterans' Memorial we could find. Every city, village and town seems to have one. Most are small, built with local volunteer labor, others are quite large. Each one is a repository of emotion and a symbol of faith in America and her people.

I listened to that speech last night. The anniversary of 9/11/01 was not mentioned. The president somehow wants America to support the jihadists in Syria, members of the same organization whose pilots flew those planes into the the WTC, Pentagon and Shank Field. The administration has given Muslims a permit for a victory celebration today in DC, on public lands. And has welcomed them to tour the WH, even though other groups are now being kept out due to 'sequestration'.

The president didn't travel to NYC today, nor to Pennsylvania. He attended no memorial ceremonies. He's going to Vegas for fund raising and golf. His like must never again be in the White House.

Going to read the mail, pay bills, do laundry and mow the lawn and saddle up again tomorrow. I think we'll go south this time for a couple of weeks. Stay off the interstates, ride the rural highways and go through the small towns and parkways. Stay in cheap motels, eat at local diners. Spend time with people who make America work.

Taps are playing on television now. From the Pentagon, of course. I'm all teary eyed, as is Mrs. Haz.

Love this country and hate the people who have fucked it up.

phx, your people re-elected a President who has created the worst 'recovery' on record. By this point in a regular recovery we would be millions of jobs to the good over the point when the previous recession STARTED. Instead, we're almost 2,000,000 jobs short of where we were when the last recession started, and we're 5,000,000 FULL time jobs short of where we were when the last recession started.

Also, the median wage has gone down over that time frame. Benefits, for those that still have them, cost more. Millions more have fallen into poverty, over 15,000,000 more are on food stamps.

THIS IS THE ECONOMY THAT YOU CONSIDER A SUCCESS.

And the recovery is all the fault of your scumbag evil sadistic party, Bush has nothing to do with it.

For this, for believing that the country deserves to be impoverished like this, you deserve nothing but contempt. For this, the President deserves to burn in Hell. Because the both of you think THIS is a success, solely because HE gets to be in power to keep fucking up.

And I didn't even mention the President's "Just Kidding" foreign policy.

Every last Obama voter for 2012 falls on the spectrum of too stupid to be allowed in public without supervision, at best, to an evil scumbag, at worst.

Where have you said the President should have been punished at the ballot box for running the worst recovery since they started keeping records?

Where have you said that food stamp usage swelling by more than fifty percent DURING AN ECONOMIC RECOVERY was a bad thing?

Where have you said, anywhere on any topic, that the President has been bad on any front? That he has ignored the issues that Americans care about most in order to interject himself into one local matter after another?

Seriously, when have you ever NOT taken the position of the President? You've even been willing to defend the President on issues like the IRS scandals, the Benghazi fuck up, and have bent over backwards to talk about how nuanced the President's current position (whatever the fuck it is RIGHT NOW) is on Syria?

I have NEVER seen you, or RITMO, or pretty much most liberals on the net, EVER take issue with the President. Except, occasionally, that he hasn't been as supportive of gays rights as soon as you would like. Robert Cook was the only leftist at Althouse who ever took issue with the President. The rest of you? The man (Obama) is President of the United States. Not the prez of the Democrats, not the Prez of the world, not the Prez of 'his people'. As President he should be attending the ACTUAL memorial of the worst foreign attack on American soil since WWII.

Merely standing around in his garden for a photo op and then going somewhere else for another photo op and then jetting off to Las Vegas or golfing or whatever is NOT being President of the United States.

I should also say that a week before 9/11, I and some friends that I went to Viet Nam with agreed to go to Washington DC and attend a 173d Abn. Bde event at the wall on Veterans Day (11/10). I had rooms rented in Arlington, and when I left Mpls/St Paul, MN airport, the plane was maybe 1/10th full. Upon entering the DC airspace, the plane banked to the left, and I could look down at the Pentagon and see one whole side missing.

We attended the daily ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and I couldn't help think what was going through peoples minds that day when they could see a huge explosion in the distance. Maybe some saw the plane.

Seriously? I haven't seen a politician get anything right since the 20th Century. There is not ONE politician at the national level that supports even half of the positions that I hold on matter of national defense or the economy, much less other matters. And not a one that believes in the kind of limited scope of government that I do, save perhaps Ted Cruz. PERHAPS. Give him another year in Washington and I'm certain he will also be voting for expanded government at all levels, if he hasn't done so already.

This isn't my country any more. It has gone through a sea change. I don't recognize the people any more, I don't recognize the leadership, and the goals of the elites, which seem to be to turn the country into a third world country with all that implies, disgust me.

And that goes for the leadership of both parties. It's all about breaking the middle class now, and a large chunk of the middle class is going along with it happily. Instead of a nation full of citizens, it's a country full of subjects. And this is no short term thing, this isn't an Obama thing. This has been happening slowly and inexorably for decades. Obama's re-election just showed that the process is complete.

How? By voting in my congressional district for a Republican candidate that MUST lose, because I live in a black district? By voting for some one that's going to vote for John Boehner to be Speaker of the House again? By voting for some other clown that is going to vote against my interests at least 75% of the time while trying to line their own pocket?

I'm tired of that bullshit. I'm tired of voting for Republicans because they are only 99 44/100ths percent as bad as Democrats, which is all I've been given most years.

No. To Hell with voting for scumbag Republicans. That gets me nowhere even if they win, and where I live they are 100% certain to lose at every level.

No, I'm going to wait. At some point a significant chunk of this country will decide to Hell with it and overthrow the government, or not. If the first happens, then I'll have decisions to make. If we keep on the current path, there's nothing left to do.

I'm not in the mood to have some party mouthpiece tell me that I'm not thinking when he hasn't disagreed with his party on any topic ever, even when that party keeps changing its mind every few hours as has been the case in recent weeks.

Fuck that. It wasn't a tragedy, what occurred twelve years ago. It was an atrocity. And THAT doesn't call for sadness, it calls for anger. Never forget. Never forgive. Hate for hate. The academic left was already organizing "teach-ins" to blame America for the attacks on all those little Eichmans.

You have to hand it to them though: they won. Those who see fellow Americans as their enemy rather than terrorists now completely control one of the parties plus the vast majority of academia, the media, and government. Who would have believed 9-11 could have had such an effect.

I notice in this thread, as everywhere, support for Obama always takes the form of attacking Republicans, conservatives, anyone who did not vote for him, that would be well over half the population.

Don't argue with me, I'm not up to it.

I'm calculating the people who stayed home, that is didn't vote at all, and I'm counting the overly excited voting first time in their lives so enthusiastically they do it three to seven or more times. I'm counting the corruption obvious to everybody who is not partisan Democrat, necessary for them to win any National office and that goes so far in explaining so much about voter id and open borders.

It is obvious to everybody.

phx didn't support Obama here, that cannot be done, phx attacked everybody else for not being supportive, that is, attacked for being bitches, or acting like Democrats do always.

Losers losers losers. We're told by phx.

Yes. We all are. Including you. You're refusing to acknowledge and admit it, here, although I sense you do otherwise.

For the first time in my life I have a very strong sense of satisfaction arising from not having children. Not leaving anything behind. For the first time in my life I hold a solidly fatalistic view towards my country's future and I hold that feeling because my entire social experience is the likes of phx, the whole world around me that I can see is the likes of immovable phx. And I'm glad that I lived to experience America as it was and I'm glad that I'm leaving it behind without issue to suffer its decline by fiercely resolute Democrats.

9-11 remembrances are shit.

I don't even know how to pray for somebody who's dead. That doesn't even make sense to me.

I did posts of each of the major events of 911. It made me think of some of the individuals involved. It also made me contemplate the confusion of that day when blow after blow came in rapid fire.

I hated that day. But we got through it and we went on. Because that is what we do. And I am never going to forget it.

My prayers and thoughts to those we lost and their families, friends and loved ones. My prayers and thoughts to those who have fallen since that day defending us around the world, including (but certainly not limited to) those lost in Benghazi last year.

It is part of the Catholic tradition to pray for those who died. On fathers day we remember our Dad's who have passed as we do on Mother's Day for Moms. The feast of All Souls Day is when we pray for the departed that their sins may be forgiven and that they can find their way into heaven.

Praying for the dead is not for everyone. Praying itself as well. That's fine with me because this is still kinda of America so you can believe what you want.

But remember the Souls who died on 911 just 12 short years ago and praying for their souls is not shit.

Not by a long shot.

Response in pieces: First, I wouldn't go by what the media says (think about what Crack said when the Trayvon thing came up). They're pushing the "Resistance Is Futile" thing as hard as they can, but, clearly, people aren't drinking the Kool-Aid the way they should.

It's not a matter of believing what the media says. It's a matter of looking at the people around me, and studying data, and looking at trends.

Right now, today, more people in my neighborhood were born in some other country than were born here. They have brought with them all their old country ways, and adopted few if any of ours. These people are not citizens in the way I think of it, nor do they give a shit about the old political ways of the nation, or the old virtues.

And every day, more people come here and act in the same way, transforming the country into something other than an old WASP republic. And the old virtues get spit on and trammeled every day.

This isn't going to change, it is onl going to get worse. Because the notional party of tradition is eagerly TRYING to select a new people. If the "conservative" party can't wait to select a new people, there is no hope. And there is no hope of dislodging the Republican Party and replacing it with something better, or even just different.

Second, again, I don't think our Little Zero won last Fall. I think he had to steal it and, considering some of the revelations of the last 4 or 5 months, it seems more credible than before.

ed, we've talked about this before. I do think there was cheating by the Dems last fall, for the simple reason that it is their MO. They will keep cheating even when they're assured of victory, because it is their MO.

BUT!

That should NOT have mattered. The President's economic record is an abject failure for all but those lucky few at the top, and those in favored industries. He should have been swept out in a landslide that no reasonable amount of cheating could have stopped.

That didn't happen.

And it didn't happen in significant part because a lot of people stayed home. Vote totals were down. And I've seen enough analysis to convince me that this was no aberration. The big correlation was this: Counties that strongly supported Ross Perot in 1992 had much lower than expected vote totals in 2012.

Ross Perot voters were socially liberal on many issues, but they were economically conservative, they were mostly nationalist (and anti-immigration) instead of internationalist, and these people had no one to vote for last year.

Obama and Romney were/are both internationalists. Both favor open borders. Both want to sacrifice American jobs for the sake of a higher stock market and the idea of economic efficiency above all.

Enough of those people didn't hold their noses and vote for Romney.

Also, Romney couldn't even make the simple case for his own election. Every time he spoke, he should have started with, "This is the worst economic recovery on record. If we had an AVERAGE economic recovery, by now we would have several million more jobs than at the START of the last recession. Instead, we're over 5.5 MILLION full time jobs short of where we were five years ago!"

But he didn't start with that. Or end with that. And rarely addressed the matter so bluntly at all. If the candidate isn't willing to run against the other guy's actual record, well, that's his own damned fault.

But, if this isn't your country, what did you (impersonal) do to stop it?

We can only work on the levels that we are able to be effective. After 13 months of hard work, we got a corrupt local functionary in a State agency who had been coasting on the tax payer's money for 8 years and who hadn't done any of the work she was supposed to do terminated from her job. We are suing the local agency as a class action lawsuit and they are 'finally' paying attention to the complaints. Next.....we are taking on the Commissioners on a case by case basis and hope to see them either quit (one already has) or be removed from their corrupt positions.

Can I change Washington? Hardly. But we can start from the bottom up. This is mantra of the Tea Party. Start the changes at the grassroots level. Destroy the beast from the inside out.

When did you start boycotting Hollyweird?

At least 8 to 10 years ago. Jane Fonda and her ilk have made it impossible to go to the movies. Morgan Freeman? Pthooey. I spit on you. Linda Rohnstadt, used to be one of my favorite performers.....shut the fuck up and sing. Dixie Chicks.....who?

When did you stop believing the network news?

About the time of Vietnam when the reality of what I knew from people who either volunteered, from my own family members in the Air Force and who friends were drafted didn't jive with reality. When the Hippie movement was glorified by the media, when I really knew first hand, up close and personal what fucking nasty worthless losers they really were.

When did you start doing your own research?

About the same time but even more so as the world wide web and the internet became an essential tool for finding out the truth. Probably early 80's. This is why the Progressives and even the dickwad Rinos like McCain and Graham want it shut down. Truth is power and we can't have THAT can we?

When did you start talking to people about what you thought was going on?

Years and years now. But I also realize that it is a waste of breath to talk to some people. They are either brain dead or have their head firmly planted up their asses.

It is really almost past the time for "talk" or conversation with some people. They either won't or can't think. Wake up call!!!

The only way things change is if people don't give up. I think we're getting the Goebbels treatment because the Lefties want things to be the way DBQ describes them, but they're not there.

I take it you don't live in California?

:-)

It is here, you just aren't seeing it.

I haven't given up on myself or on the people that I know. Many other parts of the country or certain types of people........they are a lost cause and I don't give a flying fuck what happens to them as long as they stay far far away from me. We have to take care of OURSELVES and we have to protect ourselves from the well meaning idiots and those who are actively trying to destroy us. I can't protect the "country" and in fact I will be surprised (if I live long enough) that there even IS a country in the next 20 years. But....I can protect and watch out for me and mine.

If you're mad, stay mad, but don't give up.

I'm not giving up. I'm prioritizing.

Icepick said...

When did you start talking to people about what you thought was going on?

This one is actually kind of funny.

Who would I talk to ed, my neighbors?

Let's see, there's the crazy pit bull enthusiast on one side. He threatened to kill me a couple of weeks ago because I told him to get his goddamned dogs off my property. He's been arrested at LEAST eleven times on violence charges, including beating the Hell out of his wife in front of their daughter, and beating the Hell out of his girlfriend (with weapons) in front of their sons. Yeah, the sons are bastards because he didn't marry her. I'm assuming that's for better welfare benefits.

Even ignoring his obvious charms (who wouldn't love a 'man' so smart that he assaulted a police officer?), the guy thinks all the moon landings, and every other manned space shot, were fakes. Done by Satanists. To further the Devil's Plans for World Conquest. He believes in voodoo, even though he's Puerta Rican and not Haitian. He believes the government put Katrina refugees in death camps. Etc.

Should I talk to him?

Or should I talk to the neighbors across the street who are from Haiti? Think I'll convince them of anything? Or maybe the Spanish speaking couple on the other house that's catty-corner to mine? I don't even think they speak English, and I don't speak Spanish, so I can't speak to them.

There are the new neighbors on the other side of me from the violent lunatic with the pitbulls. They moved in some more stuff yesterday. Did I mention that a bank owns that house, and that they're squatters? (The bank knows, but either they can't take fast action or they aren't. In any event, the new squatter neighbors have already made a few improvements to the house, so they may actually be better than having an empty hole next door for the gangs.)

Think I'll convince the squatters of my old-fashioned ways?

So, no to neighbors.

And I'm not going to talk politics with anyone my wife works with or for. Her job is too important to us for me to do anything but smile and take it the next time one of them tells me how wonderful Obama is.

Friends? Most of my friends already feel the same way. The ones that don't are even more radicalized than I am. So there's nothing to say there.

Talk to strangers? I've got too much bile to talk to strangers about politics.

No, there's no one to talk to except the 'voices' in the magic box. And none of that ever comes to anything anyway.

No, I've never convinced anyone by just talking to them, not of anything important. (Although there are some funny stories about me convincing people of non-important things through the power of conversation.) Mostly, those whose minds have been changed by me have just seen the data I presented, and then, over time, that data sinks in with their observations. Slowly I've made my wife a much more conservative person, though much less so than me.

I just don't believe that talk accomplishes much. And I think it's too late for anything but rebellion to have any effect NOW. It may still be possible for an unarmed rebellion to happen via constitutional convention, but even that idea seems like an impossibility.

No, the country has been transformed. Large parts of it don't even speak English anymore. The old WASP virtues and the Americanized version of British government have been swept aside, to get us to this brave new world, with such people as Barack Hussein Obama and Bradley Manning in positions of responsibility.

It's over, ed. You just haven't realized it yet, God bless you.

Icepick said...

And ed, here's the final thing.

How are you going to win the Presidency now that Florida is a blue state? It gets bluer by the day. More people from the north, more people from Puerto Rico, more people from Mexico and Honduras and Guatemala and Haiti and the Dominican Republic and so on and so on. Florida is now blue. The only reason Florida still has a red government at the state level is because those elections are done in off years, and Dems have trouble convincing their people there's really an election unless the President is on the ballot.

No, Florida is now blue, along with California and New York and Illinois and New Jersey.

And if the REPUBLICANS get their way, Texas will be a blue state no later than 2024.

Demographics are against you, because your own candidates are against any demographic trend that doesn't make the country browner, poorer, less educated, and less likely to ever be educated.

That's what the elites want, in both parties, and the Republicans switched sides on that issue with Reagan back in the 1980s. Reagan sealed the deal on that, it's just a matter of time.

Again, that's what they said in the 1840s and 1880s.

As far as you go, you may have a point - although I still say the vote fraud came through there as much as any other place - but what we know is that Hispanics (unlike blacks) assimilate. They do change their voting preferences over a generation or two.

Again, this is why Chuckie Schumer needs to import so many slaves from Mexico. The New Deal crowd thought they had a lock forever, but, once people got out of ShantyTown and Little Italy, their eyes opened up.

As for black Americans, the fact there are people like Crack and Bill Cosby, trying to get them to see the truth gives me hope (not that kind).

It took the Lefties 40 or 50 years to louse up this country b(80 or 100 if you want to go back to Woody Wilson and FDR). It's gonna be a long slog, but it can be done.

Just keep punching.

Icepick said...

ed, this story captures a lot of what makes the current country so small.

Icepick said...

My answer to Icepick. You start where you can. Ripples in a pond, after all...

I live in a black and hispanic neighborhood. These people will vote for the Democrats in every election no matter what. Working locally isn't going to do shit.

Icepick said...

As far as you go, you may have a point - although I still say the vote fraud came through there as much as any other place - but what we know is that Hispanics (unlike blacks) assimilate. They do change their voting preferences over a generation or two.

Yeah, they go from 75-80% Democratic, to 60% Democratic. That isn't winning!

And the Cubans are going the other way. The had been solidly Republican, but now the younger ones, who don't give a shit about Castro and The Cause, are increasingly Democratic in outlook.

Icepick said...

Again, that's what they said in the 1840s and 1880s.

Yeah, and the demographics still favored the old white WASPs and Germans. That isn't the case any more, because unlike then, women now vote. And women of every color tend towards the Democratic Party.

Icepick said...

As for black Americans, the fact there are people like Crack and Bill Cosby, trying to get them to see the truth gives me hope (not that kind).

The unemployment rate for Blacks was near record levels last year (since surpassed), and they still voted for Obama at what, a 96% clip?

Blacks are a lost cause. They're poor, ignorant, dependent on welfare, and they like it that way. At this point, pretty much every black vote is a vote for the Democratic Party, and that isn't going to change. It's been true since Goldwater, and it will remain true going forward. Blacks are taught that a vote for anyone other than the Democrat is a vote for the Klan. You think that's going to change?

Seriously, you've got to go to dictatorships to find vote totals for one side like how the blacks vote for Dems. They're the stone-cold lead pipe lock of American electoral politics. No Republican should ever waste a second talking to or about black people, because they're more likely to convince members of the American Communist Party to vote for them than blacks.

Icepick said...

And that, ed, is your big problem. The Dems have major voting blocks sewn up, they don't even have to work for them.

Blacks? Gold!

Hispanics? Silver!

Women of color? A nice silver-gold alloy.

Single white women? Silver.

Teh gays? A small group, but lots of money and influence in the right places. They're fucking PLATINUM where it counts!

Married white women? Well, they're up for grabs. Republicans will PROBABLY continue winning this group, but not by leaps and bounds, and not without working for it.

That leaves white men. Which vote Republican about what, a 60% clip? A little higher? If you work hard at it?

Now you see why turning the nation brown is the highest priority for the Dems. They won't even have to work at winning once it happens.

Icepick said...

Seriously, if demographic groups voted by results, the Dems wouldn't have carried black votes for so long, and sure as Hell wouldn't have carried them in 2012, no matter how white Romney was.

Icepick said...

Sorrry for the piecemeal replies, but there's much to respond to.

No voting bloc is ever sewn up for a political party. There are always parts than can be brought to the other side. Take no one for granted. How do you think we in WI got Scott Walker elected, then elected again during the recall fiasco? You don't assume defeat, and you do work hard at getting your candidate(s) elected. Romney was defeated because too many Republicans and Independents didn't vote. Obama won with a lower vote count than in this first election. Never give up.

Abolishing such huge, fundamental, gaping differences-- and just say "fuck 'em both equally"-- doesn't help the USA at all, IMO.

On this date in 2001 a massive atrocity was committed. Not a tragedy, an atrocity. A tragedy is what happens with a big natural disaster. This was by design. Much worse than what happened at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, as at least that was an attack against a military installation, with military goals in mind.

In the face of atrocity, wrath is perfectly appropriate.
