I want to comment, but this is all I got...

Well, he didn't physically stop the tank. you know...

See what I mean?

Cercle du soleil.

Trooper York said...

They don't have the balls to have a rodeo clown in an Obama mask stand in front of a tank.

If they do that I would be impressed.

Lem the artificially intelligent said...

I take it the Singaporisians didn't know about the tank incident in Tiananmen.

JAL said...

Wow.

See if they get asked back!

And here? We have stupid clown censors.

Troop -- I think the patrons of rodeos all over ought to go in wearing Obama masks.

It is important to have equal opportunity ridicule.

Far better than unilateral censorship of the lefty clowns.

Somebody at The Cirque -- guts.

This took place in BEIJING.

Singaporeans are anti communist, but they do not like rocking the boat with their Mandarin trading partners. They have hostile Malays to deal with.

Well, good.

And remember, if it's a private organization telling you to STFU, it's not censorship.

Trooper York said...

Phx I am interested in what you really think about the rodeo clown incident. Do you think someone should lose their job because they made fun of the President?

if it's a private organization getting their arm twisted by government officials

Another paranoid right-wing fantasy that independents and moderates find so appealing.

sakredkow said...

He had to lose his job, because RACIST!!!

He had to lose his job because he offended a large part of his audience.

I notice the right is just as quick (and inexpert) to racebait and the left these days.

sakredkow said...

"as the left" I meant.

ricpic said...

Ooh, mustn't offend the ultra-sensitive thug enablers!

sakredkow said...

Ooh, mustn't offend the ultra-sensitive thug enablers!

What can't you understand about this? It's like you're hypnotized by your own victimology.

He offended a large part of his audience at a family entertainment event where people depend on ticket sales.

Trooper York said...

That is not why he got fired and if you think that is the case you are delusional.

He got fired because the rodeo is dependent on some government grants and they were threatened. If you don't think that is the case you are not as smart as I think you are.

Obama should have just laughed it off. And he should have said that the guy should not have lost his job for making fun of him. If that had been Sarah Palin and they fired the guy you would have demanded a federal civil rights case.

Trooper York said...

The guy is just lucky he is not in jail for a parole violation.

sakredkow said...

He got fired because the rodeo is dependent on some government grants and they were threatened.

You're just a victim making stuff up. If you aren't, show me a ref.

If you think Obama even heard of this crap, I think you're the delusional one. You think Obama reads Drudge?

sakredkow said...

Some guy went rogue on his job. He got all political in front of a paid audience - many who would obviously be offended to bring their families to that kind of unsolicited nonsense.

And some of you are all weepy about your civil rights being violated because they fired his stupid butt.

I kind of feel bad for the guy personally because he isn't smart enough to figure out that not everyone thinks the same way he does or holds the same political views. I've seen that a lot. People are so self-centered they can't imagine how or why anyone would make different political choices than they do. And that's exactly what it is: self-centered.

I just happen to have a warm spot in my heart for those kinds of delusional, self-centered beings.

Trooper York said...

They did the same thing in 1994
with a Bush mask.

In the enclosed article and several other reports it is noted that state legislators demanded an investigation and that funds be cut for the state fair where the rodeo was held. Also the clowns will have to undergo sensitivity training.

Obama didn't have to know about although I am sure he did as he is even quicker to react that some people who we won't name so they don't show up. It is all the other people who are offended and attack if the Jug Eared Jesus is mocked in any way.

Trooper York said...

Don't you believe in the First Amendment and Freedom of Speech Phx?

Or is that just for Democrats and Obama worshipers?

Trooper York said...

This is just the same as the people who investigated Joe the Plumber or the IRS minions who went after the Tea Party. Obama doesn't have to direct anything. He has many collaborators who will do his dirty work without his hands getting dirty.

He has been a disaster for racial relations in this country.

Trooper York said...

I bet Phx was the first guy on line to buy Dixie Chick albums.

And he doesn't even like country music.

JAL said...

Please note from the link I and Troop provided above that the GHW Bush figure was actually gored and shredded.

And phx, you know, the Obama clown story was told elsewhere besides Drudge.

And since BHO states repeatedly that he doesn't hear about things except when he reads about them ... well, there you go.

But much like Lois Lerner & Co. no one on the left needs to be schooled in how to protect his majesty.

They all read Alinsky. Or maybe even took the class from BHO & Co. (Link could be provided, but you need to lift a finger and look it up yourself.) You know -- stay classy about this, like telling a woman about putting lipstick on a pig.

JAL said...

And again -- the Cirque de Soleil Tianamen Square viewing was on stage in Beijing.

Not Singapore.

Trooper York said...

Facts don't matter JAL.

It is all about how we ffffeeeeellllll!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trooper York said...

It just feels right to punish and fire and jail anybody that opposes Obama.

That other stuff where they make movies about assassinating Bush or jokes about raping Sarah Palin...why that's just good clean fun. Don't you have a sense of humor?

sakredkow said...

I'm just sayin' you guys who are making the clown the latest cause célèbre for the right are showing very poor judgement IMO. It's a pattern with right as I see it, and it's a form of victimology. You cannot allow yourselves to see how it would look if you factored out the political biases. If you did you would understand that it's probably right that he was fired although we can try to decide if it wasn't a little overkill banning him for life (as I said, I have a soft spot for self-centered clowns).

Instead, you want to pose yourselves as victims of a left-wing conspiracy. But there's no freedom for anyone there. Just more bondage.

"If you don't think that is the case you are not as smart as I think you are." - TY
You aren't all bad either, TY.

sakredkow said...

It is all about how we ffffeeeeellllll!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh please. Nobody's more emotional than wingers who believe they have the corner on reason and libbies and women are all about ffffffeeeeelllllings. Stick around, I'll show you how that works if you like.

Trooper York said...

Look Phx it is really simple. If your man Obama was a man he would simply say "Hey the guy was just making a joke and everybody ought to just chill out." But he won't do that.

Even Oprah had to back off her racial bullshit. Enough is enough already with the sensitivity nonsense.

Trooper York said...

If we don't stand up when they come for the rodeo clowns what are we going to do when they come for us the regular clowns?

Trooper York said...

Why was this poor clown banned for life? Because he hurt the President and his minions feelings?

Yep that's the ticket.

sakredkow said...

Look Phx it is really simple. If your man Obama was a man he would simply say "Hey the guy was just making a joke and everybody ought to just chill out." But he won't do that.

You're missing the fact that it doesn't have anything to do with Obama. And it's not on America's agenda in the least.

This is a personnel problem of the controlling Rodeo Association.

sakredkow said...

Why was this poor clown banned for life? Because he hurt the President and his minions feelings?

Why are you ignoring this? It was because he offended audience members that the rodeo owners depend on for ticket sales.

For a hard-core winger you sure don't seem to understand how capitalism works and how dependent entertainment purveyors are on the good feelings of the public who buys their tickets. This clown completely and selfishly ignored that and threw the employer into a real bind, where they will now get hurt no matter what they do.

But yeah, go ahead and support the clown. It's familiar to you.

Trooper York said...

It has everything to do with Obama. If he is going to have a beer summit for a black professor who was arrested for mouthing off at a cop he has to react to someone getting fired in a high profile way just because they made fun of him. But he wouldn't do that because he thinks that was the right thing to do. In fact I bet he is calling Holder to see if they can violate his parole.

sakredkow said...

Next you'll want a beer summit for yourself. Yeah, no victimology at work on your part here.

Trooper York said...

I don't accept your premise Phx. There is not mention of people not buying tickets or anyone being offended other than the douche who taped it and said it was like a "Klan" rally. So that would indicate that the people at the rodeo liked it not that they were offended. When you want to see what it looks like when a crowd is offended watch A-Rod's next at bat.

You are just making up shit when you say people were offended. They loved it. I doubt many Obama people go to the rodeo. Or the state fair. Other than to mug and beat people up like they do in Wisconsin. Just saying.

Trooper York said...

Waiting for racism charges in 5,4,3,2......

sakredkow said...

The president picks and chooses who he has a beer summit with. That's his prerogative and he assumes the risks. It's your job to criticize him if you don't like his choices.

But it doesn't mean that henceforth every clown YOU love gets a beer summit. Go ahead argue that though. And then complain how "low-information voters" spurn your values.

Trooper York said...

Dude that is the point. The only way to get to the low information voter is to put stuff like this out there. To show what a thin skinned piece of crap Obama and his buddies really are.

You are right that it is victimology is at work here. This whole country is a victim of Obama and it is just getting worse.

Trooper York said...

Pretty soon Kukla Fran and Ollie will be sent to reeducation camp because they preferred Lamp Chop to a black sheep.

You know it's coming.

sakredkow said...

I doubt many Obama people go to the rodeo. Or the state fair.

Now you're making the unwarranted assumptions. I've been to plenty of rodeos and state fairs. I won't argue that the majority were okay with it, you may be right. But a BUSINESSMAN is suddenly left with a majority of ticket buyers who support him, instead of virtually ALL the ticket buyers he had before this clown stepped in.

Like I said, you don't seem to understand business principals very well. But I think you actually do. You just want to ignore them to make an anti-Obama point and play the victim worse than Oprah.

I ought to start calling you Oprah, you're such a victim of racism and lefties.

sakredkow said...

This whole country is a victim of Obama

Stand up and be a man. Warriors aren't victims of anyone or anything.

Trooper York said...

We are all the victims of racism and lefties. That is what the racial and sexual sensitivity bullshit is all about.

I understand business principles very well. So do the people at Gibson guitars. The car dealers who were Republicans and put out of business by Obama in the bail-out. The Chick-fil-a guy. The Tea Party people that tried to set up non-profits. The weight of government is being used to destroy private enterprises if they do not knuckle under to this regime. The only way to survive is to fight it tooth and nail and publicize it and get people stirred up about it because they try to do it under the radar.

All your minimizing it and trying to say it was good business is just a great line of bullshit. We need to fight this out every time it happens and not knuckle down when Charlie starts to oppress the clowns.

Trooper York said...

Standing up is exactly what is called for. Standing up and saying that Obama and his cronies have no regard for our Constitution. No regard for the rule of law. That is why he ignores laws because he does not agree with them. He is a very dangerous man.

sakredkow said...

So do the people at Gibson guitars. The car dealers who were Republicans and put out of business by Obama in the bail-out. The Chick-fil-a guy. The Tea Party people that tried to set up non-profits.

This is where Garage Mahal would be welcome. He's got that "B-b-b-but, what about....?!" thing going that so perfectly captures you guys in this change-the-topic mode.

Trooper York said...

It's not changing the topic. It is the same thing. It is using government or the threat of government to suppress speech and deny people their rights to make a living. It was the pressure of state officials threatening to cut off funds for the fair that led to this guy getting fired. Not any offense to the paying public. They loved it as witness the cheers and applause.

It is all part of the same problem.

sakredkow said...

Brother, you get the last word.
Good argument, wasn't it? Man, I haven't seen THAT in a long time. And we did it without completely trashing the place like we use to do at TOP.

Let's cut it here so we don't completely bore each other to death and turn into savages just to pass the time. We'll pick it up again around the bend.

Phx, your "it's just business" rationale doesn't hold upnto scrutiny because the majority of entertainers have "gone all political" for leftist causes without their managers freaking out over the loss of a segment of their market.

I don't really care much about the clown thing one way or another. I have to agree it would be awesome if Obama would choose to be a uniter by saying that this was political humor that should be laughed off instead of shunned and that we all ought to chill out. It would make a very good teachable moment, IMO, if he would point out that all presidents get lampooned, as they should because they are not kings, and now that we have a black president we should see it in that colorblind way as a political statement, not a racist one.

Trooper York said...

Well said Mr. Stanley.

I always wanted to ask you have your ever presumed on Mr. Livingston?

Unknown said...

Heh, you'll have to ask hubs, Trooper, as I am Mrs. Stanley.

sakredkow said...

Sorry. You don't turn State Fairs, minor league baseball games, Easter Egg hunts, retail mall openings or rodeos as events to mock one party or the other.

The "majority of entertainers" who "have gone all political" for leftist causes have agents and are big enough to accept the responsibility if it costs them a gig. They usually get BIGGER audiences for being controversial. Rinky dink state fairs and rodeos are very dependent on ticket sales and no doubt they were scared to death of a potential boycott by rabid lefties. They clearly made a business decision and they're probably still scared to death because of what this fruitcake clown did to them in his selfish thoughtlessness.

sakredkow said...

Good to see you C Stanley. I think you said some nice things about some other comments of mine a while ago that I was really grateful for.

sakredkow said...

I say "fruitcake clown" but he's probably not that bad. I do think he was dumb and selfish but there should be forgiveness somewhere for him. He's probably just another knucklehead who would be okay to have a beer with.

sakredkow said...

Also I say "selfish" but I think I mean "self-centered" really. He was so self-centered he couldn't imagine that ANYBODY would object to him mocking the president. Like everybody sees the world the same way he and his buddies do.

What a brace of cold water that must have been on the poor guy.

sakredkow said...

What could possibly go wrong?

Trooper York said...

Dude once again that is a red state crowd at the state fair. Lefties only go to the Lilith Fair. And the Renaissance Fair.

It is pure invention on your part to state that it bothered the rednecks and hillbillies at the rodeo. By all accounts the people at the rodeo laughed cheered and rooted for the bull. You might as well claim that they stormed the concession stand because there was no Grey Poupon for the chili dogs.

sakredkow said...

By all accounts the people at the rodeo laughed cheered and rooted for the bull.

I already answered that @1:24pm. I think my reasoning is better than yours here:

"I've been to plenty of rodeos and state fairs. I won't argue that the majority were okay with it, you may be right. But a BUSINESSMAN is suddenly left with a majority of ticket buyers who support him, instead of virtually ALL the ticket buyers he had before this clown stepped in."

And now the principle owners have to worry about making BOTH righties AND lefties unhappy and potentially boycotting what used to be a good, family-centered, nonpolitical event that everyone could enjoy - even if they were lefties (and yes, lefties do go to state fairs and rodeos).

You don't want to see this from a business person's point of view. You want to see it from an "anti-Obama" point of view.

Trooper York said...

Can't you tofu eating, NPR listening, Daily Show blowing lefty douchenozzles leave us something. All we have left is NASCAR, Professional Wrestling, Honey Boo Boo ,Mountain Dew and the rodeo. Can't you leave us at least that much and stop with your lecturing and teachable moments and sensitivity training?

sakredkow said...

Oh Christ, if you put it that way...

Trooper York said...

Lefties don't go to the rodeo. That's bullshit. They only go if there is PETA protest because they are hurting the poor little cows.

Have you ever been to the rodeo?

Didn't think so.

Trooper York said...

We have to have place where it is a safe zone to not have all your teeth other than a hockey game.

Trooper York said...

I was at the rodeo once before you ask.

It was a goat rodeo but it was still a rodeo. Just sayn'

I was investigating a shitbird who allegedly was disabled and unable to work. I found out he was a rodeo clown. So, I went to a couple rodeos[one was in Rome, Wi.] and videotaped this guy. Those were the only 2 rodeos I've ever been to but I came away impressed. Those fuckers who ride bulls are tough bastards!

Lampooning the sitting president is an American past time. It is part and parcel of what makes this crazy experiment in freedom and sovereignty so amazing. It's ingrained in our national character to impugn, dismiss, rankle, and ridicule authority, wherever and whenever it exists.

I didn't enjoy Bushitler that much, but some of the Bush jokes were sincerely funny. Hell, I make fun of even the politicians I can stomach.

Obama should be the bigger man here and dismiss the ban on the clown. I'm sure he's heard of the situation by now. It would be a graceful and welcome gesture, and would actually enhance the stature of his 'post-racial' presidency.
