Bell Peppers

Remember to get Bell Peppers.

Do we make a list? Althouse was big on lists.

Speaking of Althouse, now that July is nearly over, does anybody have the latest traffic rankings? I would guess that the full effect will not be felt until at least August, after the comments have been off for the entire recording period, but am curious.

And now, her little lawnboy approved "moderated comments" do not count as a comment section.

There's no open comments so I don't even think about it.

NOW meetings in the 70s were places to pick up babes.

Qualified women showed up in the mid 80s and wound up on the women's workplace issues committee.

Guys were just working with no committee.

There were mandatory annual awareness seminars.

I was banned from those.

I have permission to quote her.

And as for Huma, the notion that she could now be some pathbreaker is so stupid I don't know where it came from. Some people — who are they? — got fixated on her — why? Because she's somewhat attractive? Because she's somewhat attractive and Muslim? Because she's somewhat attractive, Muslim, and close to Hillary? I'd like those people to confess what they're so enamored about. I bet they won't, because it's nothing but stupidity.

Althouse is upset that people might want to be protective of Huma?
The way she said sometimes she was driven to feel protective towards Obama?

Or is it that protection is a one way street?

Femenism is very convoluted.

I don't know how re-energized Ann is, but if anybody seriously believes the Hildabeast didn't need Willie for everything she's done in her life, they're dreaming.

As Katie Pavlich put it:

The funny thing about Hillary Clinton is how vastly her reputation exceeds her accomplishments. In reality, the only reason anyone has heard of her is that she married Bill Clinton. Otherwise, she would have toiled away as an obscure, reasonably competent if obnoxious lawyer. She was a relatively unpopular First Lady who is best remembered for being embarrassed by her husband’s serial infidelities. She served a brief term as a Senator from New York, a role in which she achieved nothing. Then she lost the Democratic nomination to Barack Obama, and punched her ticket during a singularly unsuccessful stint as Secretary of State. Never has she had an original thought, formulated a successful strategy, or stepped out of the shadow of her singular husband.

Lem.

This is the Internet. Not a copyrighted published book. Even then you can quote the author without their permission, as long as you nicely give attribution to the author as to who wrote it and where you got the quote.

You don't need "permission" to quote something that someone just strewed out onto the Internet. Of course it is nice to give credit to that person, but....you do not need to grovel or ask permission.

Quote Althouse all you like. I see no problem with that. Make links if you like so others can go to the whole article... if they like.

Just like Inga, who somehow thinks that photos that she posted or that her daughters posted onto the Internet onto unprotected sites are somehow private. It is the Internet. There are ways to keep your photos and your writings private. Blogger and Pinterest are not those ways.

You do not need anyone's permission.

Lem the artificially intelligent said...

Anyway. the thing here is that Althouse seems to have lost her edge, a little bit.

Althouse, inadvertently, left herself vulnerable there... criticizing people for doing something, she, on more than one occasion, announced she did herself.

3. tediously dull, especially due to lack of meaning or sense; inane; pointless: a stupid party.

4. annoying or irritating; troublesome: Turn off that stupid radio.

5. in a state of stupor; stupefied: stupid from fatigue.

Lem back when I was there she always seemed to respond and to reward those that hated her most.

I was actually scared she would pick someone that was...like that.

At least Meade wasn't like that to her.

Also I tried to rehash the whole thing--haven't been there in years--so I waded through it all backwards--and couldn't process all of it.

After awhile I went with my gut instinct, and/or revulsion at a point where she was treating a commenter that I knew had absolutely adored her for years--so repulsively poorly.

I like to take red bell peppers and cut evenly into strips, toss olive oil all over, salt, turn the heat up on a pan real hot and basically burn them on one side so each pepper strip has a burn stripe and softened but not fully softened.

Then lemon bang dressing right there with the olive oil already covering them.

I've served that several times and it gets people each time.

Hi. Just a note to say I tried your red bell pepper idea and it works really well, especially if you substitute red bell peppers with pumpkin and boil it for an hour instead of frying in a pan on hot until it softens, and instead of salt, I used Mother Teresa's celery and turmeric fennel-salt Madras curry. And I served it on pancakes and coated with whipped cream. Turned out great. Even the dog thought it was good.

JAL is spot-on here.

Unless Huma's family has disavowed her -- and they haven't -- her marriage is about power and the MB. Women from prominent MB families don't marry American Jews without repercussions. This is not "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?" Muslim Brotherhood-style.

The left meets these concerns with cries of conspiracy-thinking and McCarthyism but no substantive arguments.

Again, it's my feeling the Romster was leading and the vote fraud machine had to be cranked up. As I've said, all the revelations the last few months tend to bear that out.

I'm not ducking it, I'm just saying what if it was a bigger majority?

edutcher: What if it was? That does not change the fact of madawaskan's point: the majority of white women voted for Romney.

Fine, but I'm still saying I want somebody else's word besides a CNN exit poll.

I take their word for nothing.

There's a reason I usually put YMMV after I quote a poll, any poll.

After last year, they're all suspect.

PS He asks, "Why would they lie?".

Considering how much they've participated in the race-baiting of the last year or so, maybe it's to support story lines like the Zimmerman verdict was a whitewash because most of the jurors were typical Romney supporters.

Never fear, the reason will come out,

A certain blogger: "After I shut off the comments, I had to deal with email and writing on other sites, and I saw some people whom I had valued as guests griping about what I did to them, showing little appreciation for what I had given for 9 years."

Do you think she might be a wee bitter? And narcissistic...

Rh, I have read that some physicists postulate there was/is a point during the Big Bang that was/is before the existence of time. How do you know that there was/is not a point before the existence of numbers?

Evi, I agree with your 12:28 comment. I saw that and thought the same thing, but she who should not be mentioned, should not be mentioned.
